Ivory Is The Colour Of The Season - Are You Wearing It Yet?
Just in time for the festive season

Just in case you never received it, the memo from the recently-concluded Lakme Fashion Week is out, and it’s ivory that’s ‘shading’ every other colour in town.
From trousers to shirts, blazers to bandhgalas, it’s time to embrace the purity of all things white, as designers have taken to ivory like no other colour. Abraham & Thakore had it, as did Shantnu-Nikhil. Tarun Tahiliani’s Tasva had a whole host of ivory coloured clothing. So did Ravi Bajaj. You know a colour’s going to be a major trend in the coming season when designers everywhere are taking to it and how.
Veer Pahariya closed the show for Abraham & Thakore in a head-to-toe ivory look. Wearing a bandhgala paired with flowy trousers, the actor made quite an impression in his look that’s ideal if you like your traditional wear slightly relaxed and whimsical. We’d totally recommend wearing this to a beachside wedding, where your outfit needs to be both fun and functional.
As per designer Ravi Bajaj, even a regular shirt-trousers-blazer look can be greatly elevated when you’re wearing it in white.
It looks clean and crisp, yes, but also the right amount of classic. Perfect for when you’re hoping to break the monotony amidst all those black (or black and white) looks everyone’s wearing around you.
When it comes to that always-reliable bandhgala, churidaar and dupatta look, you can be assured you’re definitely going to be making a statement. But want to take things to a whole new level? Take inspiration from this Tasva look and go all out ivory – you won’t need to do much else!
Even actor Ayush Mehra sashayed down the runway in an all-white look, and looked absolutely fabulous.
Who said white is right only for traditional looks? When Shantnu-Nikhil sent out this all-ivory look on the ramp, you had to be there to see all the eyes shine with excitement.
A simple white shirt with trousers in the same colour and cummerbund to cinch your waist (also in white) might sound simplistic on paper but when put together, it’s a look unlike any other.
This festive season and for the party season that follows, take inspiration from these menswear looks showcased at Lakme Fashion Week. Let ivory be the colour that guides you and ditch black for a bit. Of course, style the look the way you’d like. All we’re saying is the colour of the season is definitely white and ivory, be it traditional wear or a more modern-day look, so ensure you’ve got your closet stocked up with it.
