Bandhgala Stole The Show At Waves Summit 2025
The inaugural Waves Summit was all about business, but the Bandhgala stole the show.
At the Jio Convention Centre , the inaugural summit, Waves, had a secret star amongst the many stars who attended the event: the Bandhgala.
Structured, regal and unapologetically timeless piece of menswear. From Ranbir Kapoor in matcha green kurta to the long flowy attire of the South India hunk, Vijay Devarkonda, Bandhgala kurtas dominated with its quiet power. It highlighted heritage, tailoring for the present and literally no clamour, only stature.
Waves that stands for World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit, is India's platform highlighting the media and entertainment industry founded by the Government of India and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to address the the rising creator's economy.
The summit that' currently being held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai has brought together a diverse array of stakeholders, investors, policymakers, technologists and creators. Inaugurated by the Prime Minister himself, Waves Summit intends to promote Indian entertainment, gaming, cinema, AI and more.

But even the midst of serious conversations about craft, business and creativity, it was the Prince Coat, that held the room's gaze. With panellists ranging from Akshay Kumar to Chiranjeevi, to Mohanlal, to Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Karan Johar, the Indian unofficial uniform in formal wear became the emblem of power-dressing on day of the four day Summit.

Karan Johar
Never too shy to take a fashion risk, the director-producer and writer of Dharma Productions, Karan Johar wore an all black fit and and another mocha brown fit, both by Indian fashion designer Manish Malhotra, making him look like regal.
Ranbir Kapoor
Making a rare appearance amidst his ongoing Ramayana shooting, Ranbir Kapoor graced the Waves Summit with wife Alia Bhatt in a matcha green bandhgala outfit, sleeked up hair, and shades.

Abhay Verma
Popular for his role in Munjya and Family Man, the face of the soft boy era, Abhay Verma, wore Bandhgala suit by none other than Shantanu and Nikhil. The navy blue suit with an embroidered brooch and a stand collar brought regal appeal to Verma's attire.
Vicky Kaushal
Arriving sharply in a tailored traditional outfit, Vicky Kaushal, whose recent film Chaava was a massive success, donned a Bandhgala navy blue suit by Manish Malhotra that has hand-stitched buttons and collar pin accents.
Taha Shah Badussha
Taha Shah Badussha, the actor that rose to fame through his impressive performace in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Amazon Prime Video series Heeramandi, adorned a deep coral red bandhgala with silver-toned buttons that added sharp, minimal contrast.
