If your wallet is already in tears from the multiple Dhurandhar rewatches in cinemas, consider yourself in luck. Netflix just acquired the digital streaming rights to Aaditya Dhar’s blockbuster spy thriller for a whopping 285 crores. The movie, meanwhile, is slated to be available on the streaming service as early as January 30. Reportedly, the Telugu version of the film might be released simultaneously, expanding its reach beyond Hindi speaking audiences.
However, audiences watching it on Netflix would probably watch an edited version of the movie. Recently, the filmmakers announced that the movie was edited to muted words like “Baloch” and “Intelligence”, so as to not promote hate against certain communities. The edited version has been playing on cinemas since January 1, 2026.
Released on December 5 last year, Dhurandhar has now become the first Indian movie to cross the Rs. 700 crore mark domestically, while internationally, it is steadily headed towards the Rs. 1200 crore mark. The movie features Ranveer Singh as an Indian spy infiltrating the gangster Rehman Dakait’s (Akshaye Khanna) network in Karachi’s Lyari, in a bid to dismantle terror operations linked to Pakistan.
