The second episode of The White Lotus’ third season starts with a shot of Patrick Schwarzenegger’s butt. It’s a fitting metaphor considering his character has been an that of an absolute a**hole since he first met him.
The thing about The White Lotus is that it’ll present with completely unlikeable parts, season after season, and you’ll find yourself enjoying them going through all kinds of mental, emotional and sexual upheavals through the episodes. No one does rich and unbearable characters quite like this Mike White show, so nothing and no one should surprise or disgust you.

And yet, even by the show’s standards, Schwarzenegger’s Saxon is probably the most abhorrent characters White has ever thrust upon us. Just when you think he can’t stoop any lower, he does, and we’re only two episodes down this season.

In the second episode, he is happy to create a ruckus in the room trying to find a blender for his protein shake, urges his younger brother, Lochlan, to get some pump, gets a boner while getting a massage and cracks a sexist, completely unfunny joke about ladyboys in Thailand.

Plus, he’s forever walking around with a sense of entitlement, as if his muscular torso makes obligates women to go to bed with him. So far, not even one of them has paid any heed to him and thank God for that!
Not to forget his antics in the first episode, where he commented on his sister’s sex life while calling her hot and asked his younger brother about the kind of porn he watches while lying butt naked in the same room as him.

Creepy doesn’t even begin to describe him. Disgusting doesn’t do justice to his character. That smile he perpetually seems to have wants to make you jump into the screen, enter that resort and punch him in the face.
I’m sincerely hopeful, at some point in the show, someone will do the needful.
