The Take-Two meeting itself is scheduled for 6 PM PT on September 17, following the same webcast format the company used for its August investor call. That earlier call is exactly why fans are paying attention now. 

CEO Strauss Zelnick described GTA 6 pre-order numbers as "astronomical" while reconfirming the release date, and if there's one thing that keeps a fandom's hopes on life support, it's a CEO throwing around words like that without any visuals to back them up.

GTA 6 Launch: Merch, Leaks, And A Very Busy Summer

Rockstar is not exactly sitting quietly in the meantime. The Miami Beach city council just approved GTA 6 advertising, pre-orders are still topping PS5 and Xbox charts, and GTA 6 DualSense controllers have already become scalper bait online. 

So much more is happening. Leaks pointing to a Vice City-themed collector's edition box with a disc slot, and GTA 6's presence at PlayStation's Tokyo Game Show booth, complete with free T-shirts, and it is easy to see why fans think a trailer must be ready to drop.
