GTA 6 Pre-Order Sales And Revenue Breakdown: Records Shattered; Check PS5 And Xbox Numbers Too

GTA 6 has sold over 6 million copies and it has not even been launched yet. With one month left on the clock before its November 19, 2026 release date, this Rockstar crime sequel is making pre-order numbers already look like a victory lap. Thirteen years in the making, and the internet has not even seen a release-day trailer cycle yet. At this rate, 'the biggest launch in gaming history' might be underselling it.

GTA 6 Pre-Order Sales And Revenue

As of October 20, Sensor Tower estimates Rockstar has pre-sold roughly 6.45 million copies of GTA 6, pulling in a revenue of close to $630 million before a single player has even loaded in.

PlayStation 5 is carrying most of that weight, accounting for 74% of sales, which breaks down to 4.8 million copies on PS5 against 1.66 million on Xbox. 

Over 6 million GTA 6 copies sold, how many more to go? Piper Sandler's earlier projection puts lifetime sales north of 45 million copies. That number will put even Hollywood blockbusters to shame.

GTA 6 arrives on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles as the long-awaited follow-up to GTA V, this time set in the fictional, Florida-inspired state of Leonida.

GTA 6 Standard edition price runs to $79.99, the ultimate edition $99.99, and for the truly committed, there’s a $399.99 collector's set stacked with game-themed merchandise, minus, oddly, the actual game in physical format.
