Why Conrad Fisher’s Watch in The Summer I Turned Pretty Suddenly Internet’s New Obsession

Here’s what makes it a timeless classic and looks absolutely gorgeous on internet's latest crush

I am one of those still sleeping under a giant rock when it comes to watching the hit Prime Video show The Summer I Turned Pretty. What’s it about, again?

Currently on its third leg of the Amazon Prime Video original series, TSITP as most love to call it is set to be getting a movie as its finale. The plan is to offer the over-excited fans a film instead of episodic finale season.

Amazon MGM Studios and The Summer I Turned Pretty have shared that the film will be written by original series author Jenny Han alongside Sarah Kucserko although the cast has not been confirmed. But that’s not why it’s caught my attention.

It is the watch worn by the handsome hunk on the show Conrad Fisher played by Christopher Briney.

Apparently, many women have found their latest crush in this fictional character caught up in a love triangle. Will he end up with the girl or the neatly perfected curly maned Jeremiah. What the hell do I know!

Those like me intrigued by cool vintage watches know it when they spot one and this time it happens to be on the show that has a global viewership of 25 million within the first week of the premiere of the third season that dropped in July 2025. A picture of Conrad wearing the Omega constellation has caught my eye—all thanks to the connections on my social media who cannot stop sharing pictures and clips from the show and of course, the good people on Reddit.

It turns out the black leather belt and golden dial Omega watch is a Connie. One may suppose it to be a deliberate attempt by the team to make the brooding and emotionally reserved brunette wear this pie-pan dial watch given Connie can be short for Conrad. So, what is so special about this watch and why has it caught people’s attention on the internet right now?

In case, you are wondering why the internet (and I mean, women) are going gaga over the character and how you can nail his style to maybe catch some attention, start with a vintage watch like the vintage Omega Constellation that comes with a 35mm pie-pan dial—something that made the early versions of the watch iconic since it was first launched in 1952. It is also a reason for the internet's obsession.

What makes this automatic chronometric timepiece special is that the early versions of the watch came with chronometer status and an outermost area with hour marker split into 12 facets while the hands are Dauphine shaped giving it a rich classic look and feel. And ain’t all there is to this watch!

Watch collectors would be delighted to know that the first of the chronometer grade movements for the Constellation were the calibre 354. These were bumper automatic winding movements, which meant they wound via a rotor that ‘bumped’ back and forth between two springs.

So, the Pie-Pan Constellation is a true classic of the late 1950s and early 1960s and carries a lot of its Zeitgeist. Originally envisioned to challenge Rolex's Datejust and called the Globemaster( until the name was dropped), it became its own success story.
