Diljit Dosanjh's Met Gala look is pure spectacle. The singer and actor who has become a globally known face made his debut as the first musician at the Met in 2025 and lets say, the Punjabi pride seasoned well in the Prabal Gurung's Maharaja look.

Dripping in jewellery, ivory and gold suit and draped bottoms, the popstar stood tall in a head-to-toe-regality. The ornate gold embroidery crowned with a jewel-studded turban and robed in a floor length embroidered cape made Dosanjh look like he has walked out of a portrait from the Sikh Empire.

The pop sensation also flaunted a Nature Sauvage Tigre bracelet by Cartier that has piercing emerald eyes and sculptural volume that add a touch of realism. Then there's their newly launched Panthere watch in rose gold that makes the Punjabi singer-actor's look absolutely timeless.

The crescent-moon brooch on the cape, the layers of emeralds, rubies, and uncut diamonds, and the ceremonial jewel-encrusted sword, all added a deliberate detail with every piece calling for a conversation!

Talk about cultural gravitas! Dosanjh's custom opulent silhouette was a masterstroke of heritage meeting the Met Gala's dress code Tailored For You (Black Dandyism) created by the ever-bold American fashion designer Prabal Gurung and styled by Abhilasha Devnani.

Dosanjh has never been too shy to express his bold personal style and his debut at the Met is nothing short of monumental. Reminiscent of Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala's iconic necklace by Cartier, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City the G.O.A.T singer honoured his heritage while aligning with the Met theme of freedom and individuality.

Moreover, the cape had intricately embroidered with the Mool Mantra in Gurmukhi script and a golden map of Punjab alluding to the Dosanjh's deep-tooted Sikh faith and Punjabi pride.

While Dosanjh's sharp tailored sherwani look is rooted in traditional Sikh royal attire, his look conveys the use of Black Dandyism through a symbolism— Black dandyism often features a flamboyant hat, a walking stick and tailored jacket with long tails.

The fashionable man brought twist to these elements of the black style. Instead of a hat, Dosanjh wore his turban with a piece of jewellery and feathers, the stick replaced by the royal sword, and the flowy cape for the long tail.
