It's no secret that audiences are in a bit of pickle right now. The big screen has been a hit-or-miss, with only a handful of movies breaking through the slumber.

Once an endless goldmine of content, OTT space, that has peaked in the last few decades, is now starting to show signs of fatigue due to sheer volume of content released every week. It is already hard to binge-watch anything anymore and the flood of shows and movies on streaming platforms makes is harder to decide what's actually worth our time.

Of course, everything isn't value for time, certainly not the most entertaining and so, the value for something truly great has never been higher than in 2026. As much as 2025 was really the year when OTT series reminded us why they're in their prime, the start to this year hasn't been as exciting.

From the creators of Derry Girls, the comedy series How To Get To Heaven From Belfast follows three friends who reunite after a friend's death and investigate a murder mystery.

Beef Season 2

Much has been said about the latest season of Beef starring Carey Mulligan, Oscar Isaac and Charles Melton and it is true, White Lotus wishes it were this intense. Beef Season 2 takes place on a luxury country-club in California and depicts the hustle and greed of two couples who are ambitious and exploitative.

Kohrra Season 2

The gritty, slow-burn crime thriller follows Garundi (Barun Sobti) and Madam ji (Mona Singh) as they investigate the murder of an NRI woman in a town in Punjab and fighting their personal battles as the case throws more twist and turns at them.

Chiraiya

The Hindi-language drama series follows Kamlesh, a middle-aged woman, who puts her happily married life at stake by asking the society and her family the poignant question 'why consent is unimportant after marriage'. A hard-hitting look at internalised patriarchy, the series explores the subject over six episodes.

Rooster

Who doesn't love a good comedy! Rooster is a clumsy attempt of four friends trying to adapt to the world that's evolved without them while keeping their friendship and careers intact.

Bait

Riz Ahmed turns satire on the British iconic character James Bond in his series Bait which explores the pressures of navigating his ethnicity, family, and a chaotic public image after he auditions to be the next 007.

Young Sherlock

A take on the famous detective Sherlock Holmes, Guy Ritchie's Young Sherlock reimagines the fictional character created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle as a 19-year-old at Oxford University entangled in a murder that jeopardises his freedom. It becomes his very first case and leads him to uncover a far-reaching conspiracy that alters his path forever.

DTF St. Louis

The new series DTF St. Louis starring Jason Bateman and David Harbour is a dark dating drama revolving around three middle-aged adults who experience malaise and a love triangle that leads to one of them dead. Definitely one of the best shows to binge-watch this year.

Scarpetta

Nicole Kidman plays the renowned forensic pathologist Dr. Kay Scarpetta who uses her skillful hands and an unnerving eye to unmask a serial killer while also proving her career-making case 28 year ago wasn't a farce.
