Is Aryan Khan’s Netflix Series The Most Awaited Offering From Bollywood In 2025?

Ever since Netflix released that teaser, you can’t scroll through social media without encountering something (or someone) around Aryan Khan’s directorial debut show, The Ba***ds of Bollywood.
Yes, anything featuring Shah Rukh Khan (he’s not featuring in the show though, apparently!) obviously goes viral in a nanosecond but to give credit where it is due, there’s been enough and more chatter about the non-SRK aspects as well. For one, Aryan Khan has chosen to enter the movies not as an actor but a director instead. Then there’s the bit about the show promising to be a comedic/dramatic take on the inner functioning of Bollywood, and when is that not fun. Plus, Aryan Khan actually smiling in the teaser, as he goes about ‘directing’ his father is something we didn’t know we needed in 2025.

Will the show live up to all the hype? We won’t know yet. But safe to say, people will be tuning in on Netflix to watch the show as and when it premieres (no word on the release date so far!).
But is the show Bollywood’s biggest outing in 2025? That would depend on how much the other titles interest audiences. Speaking of which, here’s a list of some other movies and shows we’ve placed our bets on for the year:
War 2
Hrithik Roshan alone is reason enough to get excited about the movie but this one’s also got Jr. NTR as the antagonist. Taking a break from the Brahmastra world, Ayan Mukerji is directing this one so it could go either way. We’re hoping it lands big time!
Jewel Thief
Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat is probably going to be one of the most exciting on-screen pairings this year. Judging by the teaser, Siddharth Anand has put together all the twists and turns needed to make it a delightful thriller. We’ll be seated, for sure.
Kohrra Season 2
Featuring a scene-stealing Suvinder Vicky, Kohrra is one of the best things to have happened to the Indian OTT scene. It’s back for another season and Mona Singh joins Barun Sobti for another tantalisingly thrilling crime in Punjab.
Jolly LLB 3
In Arshad Warsi we trust, and the OG Jolly is joining forces with the other Jolly, Akshay Kumar, who seems to have got his box-office mojo back with Sky Force. We’re genuinely curious to see how the two actors face off against each other.

The Family Man Season 3
The antagonist for this season is Jaideep Ahlawat—no other reasons needed to watch the show. As if Manoj Bajpayee wasn’t enough cinematic brilliance for the director duo of Raj & DK.
Thama
Dinesh Vijan’s horror-comedy universe’s next outing is about vampires and it’s exactly the kind of madness we need in 2025. Thama features Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna and we’re keen to see how the two merge into this universe.
Alpha
Speaking of universes, YRF’s spy universe takes a female turn, hopefully for the better. Alia Bhatt and Sharvari battle it out with Bobby Deol, apparently, and Anil Kapoor is the head of operations. Hrithik Roshan, too, is joining the mix, as are we, the audiences.
