Deepika Padukone Is Indeed Doing It All!
The star on Hollywood Walk of Fame adds another first on her growing list of achievements
Though Deepika Padukone is no stranger to achieving firsts, some occasions are just a tad more special than the others.
As the star makes history as the first female actor from India to have earned herself a spot on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles, as part of their class of 2026 under the Motion Pictures category, it's not just a sweet reminder of how far she's come but also a testament to her ever-expanding stardom that's obviously scaling newer, more international skies.
No wonder every Indian is busy lauding the actor for this achievement, for she'll be representing not just herself but India's entire movie industry too.
Joining Padukone in this year's list are Emily Blunt, Timothée Chalamet, Rami Malek, Rachel McAdams, Stanley Tucci and Demi Moore. It's quite a star-filled list, even by their usual standards.

Padukone must obviously be thrilled. We don't have a way of finding it out but it's safe to say she'll be celebrating. She did put up a post on Instagram though, sharing her frame of mind.

How do you get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame?
For those of you who didn't know, the Hollywood Walk of Fame currently houses 'stars' for over 2,700 different men and women. It receives over 300 applications every year from stars from across the world - yes, you have to send in an application, no matter how big a star you are, and there aren't any guarantees that you'd be selected. Only 30 make it to the final list each year, and Padukone has made it to next year's list.
But that's not all. There's also a fee. For the application process, alone. $275. You can apply once every two years. And if you do get selected, as is the case with Padukone, you have to pay $85,000 in sponsorship fee which is used for the creation and installation of the star, and also its maintenance.

Padukone will also have to plan an unveiling ceremony for the star, and she has to do in the next two years. Otherwise she risks losing her spot. If these sound like ridiculous rules, well, no can do much about it. It's just how things work, and every star worth their salt globally has to abide by them.

She may have not announced her new movie since taking a break to give birth to her first child, but it's clear that she's still busy climbing popularity charts everywhere. Maybe unveiling this star is how she'll make her much-awaited 'comeback' to the arclights. Or maybe she'll treat this as yet-another milestone, one among the many she's been charting for quite a while now. We doubt it's the latter, though. It doesn't have to be the former, per se.

Or maybe it doesn't matter? What does matter is that she continues to make us proud on international shores. Something tells us, there's a lot more to come, and we can't wait. All hail the Queen!
