The year is far from over and neither is the list of exciting new movies set to release
Now that we’ve entered the 5th month of the year – Hello, May! – it's safe to say that when it comes to Bollywood movies, the year so far hasn’t been as exciting as one would’ve hoped for it to be.
In terms of successes at the box office, only a few films have hit the mark. There’s Chhaava leading the pack as the biggest hit so far, followed by Sky Force and Kesari Chapter 2 (both starring Akshay Kumar, incidentally!) making a fair amount of noise. Barring these three, most others have failed to make a mark. Even the ‘pan India’ releases from down South haven’t managed to change any games, if you know what I mean. I don’t need to take the names – you know the ones that I’m talking about.

Nevertheless, us, movie lovers continue to live in hope – what else is there after all?

Housefull 5
Akshay Kumar’s Housefull universe is coming up with its fifth (!) edition this year, and fans of the franchise just can’t keep calm. Joining the actor in this movie will be Riteish Deshmukh (another Housefull regular), Abhishek Bachchan (in his second Housefull movie), Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Chitrangada Singh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Sonam Bajwa, and a host of other actors I’m too tired to list here.

Sitaare Zameen Par
Aamir Khan has been missing from movie theatres for quite a well and will make his comeback as a lead actor with Sitaare Zameen Par, a sequel to his own directorial venture, Taare Zameen Par, though he isn’t directing this one. Joining him in the movie will be Genelia Deshmukh who too has been MIA from the movies for a long while.

War 2
North vs South was a Pan-India movie phenomenon waiting to happen and Ayan Mukerji’s War 2 will take home of the honours of doing so for the first time. In this sequel to War, Hrithik Roshan returns as the dishy spy, taking on Jr. NTR as the antagonist. Joining the duo is Kiara Advani as the female lead.
Release date: August 14, 2025
Jolly LLB 3
Arshad Warsi was the first Jolly LLB and Akshay Kumar took on the role in the second one. Both movies were loved by the audiences – probably why the makers are bringing them both together in Jolly LLB 3. To say it’s one of the most awaited movies of the year would be a major understatement. Which Jolly LLB will come out the winner? We can’t wait to find out!

Bhoot Bangla
Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan are joining hands after a long, long time and that reason alone has their fans giddy with excitement. Bhoot Bangla is another horror-comedy which clearly is the flavour of the season, though it has nothing to do with any other such universe, fortunately. Tabu is part of the movie as well, and she certainly lends major credibility to the film.
Release date: Second half of 2025
