Film listings this week read like a genuinely mixed bag, and that's not a bad thing. Friday, 10 July 2026 brings a big, silly comedy sequel, a live-action reimagining of a modern Disney favourite, a horror franchise leaning back into its roots, a slow-burning psychological thriller and a quiet, character-driven Malayalam drama. Whatever mood you're in for a night out, there's a decent chance one of these five, from Dhamaal 4, Evil Dead Burn, The Invite to Moana, fits it.

Dhamaal 4 Release Date: July 10

Bollywood's chaos-comedy franchise is back for another round, and by the sound of it, Dhamaal 4 isn't interested in reinventing the formula. Expect the same mistaken identities, frantic set pieces and ensemble bickering that made the earlier films such reliable crowd-pleasers, this time carried by a returning cast that includes Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Jaaved Jaaferi, Sanjay Mishra and Ravi Kishan.

Moana Release Date: July 10

Disney's latest live-action outing brings one of its more recent animated hits into the real world, or as close to it as visual effects can manage. Catherine Laga'aia takes on the title role, with Dwayne Johnson returning as Maui, and the supporting cast includes Frankie Adams, John Tui and Rena Owen. The film keeps the original's songs and its coming-of-age heart intact while leaning heavily on sweeping ocean visuals to justify the jump to live action. For a story that already won plenty of admirers in animated form, this is Disney betting that a fresh coat of realism will do the same trick twice.

Evil Dead Burn Release Date: July 10

Horror fans get their fix this weekend with Evil Dead Burn, a film that seems determined to stay faithful to what has always made the series work. Rather than leaning on cheap jump scares, it goes for the relentless, stomach-turning dread and gruesome practical effects the franchise built its reputation on. Souheila Yacoub, Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan and Tandi Wright lead a cast tasked with surviving what sounds like a fairly punishing ninety minutes. If you've followed the Evil Dead films over the years, this looks like more of the visceral, uncomfortable horror that keeps people coming back.

The Invite Release Date: July 10

For something quieter but arguably more unsettling, there's The Invite, a dark comedy-drama built around a single invitation that slowly unravels into something far darker. Olivia Wilde directs and also stars, joined by Seth Rogen, Penélope Cruz and Edward Norton. Rather than chasing big set pieces, the film seems to be leaning on atmosphere and slowly shifting relationships to keep audiences off balance, the kind of approach that tends to reward patience rather than punish it. Anyone who prefers their thrillers to simmer rather than explode should probably put this one near the top of the list.

I, Nobody Release Date: July 10

The week's most understated release is I, Nobody, a Malayalam action-crime drama anchored by a strong lead performance from Prithviraj Sukumaran. He's joined by Parvathy Thiruvothu, Hakkim Shajahan, Ashokan and Vijayaraghavan in a story that seems more concerned with identity and personal conflict than spectacle. It's the kind of film built to sit with you afterwards rather than fade on the drive home, and it offers a genuinely different rhythm from the rest of this week's releases.
