Baba Vanga Thinks I Might Be Rich Soon. But I Am Not An Apopheniac

4 Zodiac signs are predicted to get rich this year, are you on the list ?

I’m not someone who reads horoscopes religiously. I’m also not someone who doesn’t read horoscopes religiously. I'm in that slippery middle ground of people who’ll mock Mercury retrograde memes right before checking the daily predictions to see whether I’m about to emotionally spiral or inherit a family villa in Tuscany. (Spoiler: I don’t have family in Tuscany.)

But a few days ago, while doomscrolling at 2:34 a.m. and procrastinating on finishing something, I stumbled upon an Instagram reel with Baba Vanga’s grainy face, some lo-fi space music, and a voiceover that said: “These zodiac signs will become millionaires before the year ends.”

I paused. Not because I believed it. But because in the unguarded chaos of the post-midnight scroll that had some “This will find you when..” reels, it stood like something that would instantaneously be considered believable (before the rationale of the mind intrudes).

According to this video, stitched together with glitchy moon clips and typewriter fonts, Baba Vanga, the blind Bulgarian mystic known for (allegedly) predicting everything from Princess Diana’s death to 9/11, and recent tsunami predictions in Japan, had “foreseen financial abundance for four zodiac signs.”

Those chosen ones? Taurus, Aries, Leo and Gemini. And here’s the kicker: I’m one of those.

Yes. According to Baba V, I might become a millionaire in the next six months. Rich-rich. Property-in-Goa rich. "Sorry-can’t-make-it-have-to-catch-a-helicopter" rich. Naturally, I laughed. Then screenshot it. Then I sent it to my friend who’s a Taurus and has been trying to manifest money using rose quartz and auto-debit savings plans.

She replied: “Wait. So Baba Vanga says we’re up?”

“Apparently we’re up big," I responded sarcastically.

For a whole day, I was high on hope. I imagined unlikely cheques. Random emails. Maybe an unclaimed inheritance from an estranged uncle who mysteriously dabbled in bitcoin before dying on a Mediterranean cruise. I even refreshed my spam folder more than once.

But somewhere in the middle of brushing my teeth, I asked myself: Would I even know what to do with a million bucks? Or worse: What if I become rich and miserable?

You see, I have a complicated relationship with money. I grew up believing that financial comfort was freedom and yet, every person I know who "made it" seems more tired than transcendent. It’s like we’ve replaced the idea of salvation with capital gains. Financial abundance is the new enlightenment. And now that Baba Vanga has said I might get there… I’ve started wondering what “there” even is.

So, I decided to take look at the Zodiac Millionaire prophecy a little more closely and why it even got under my skin in the first place. To anyone secretly interested in knowing, here's what I find out:

For Taurus: The sign of slow, patient accumulation. They invest in long-term value. They also never forget who owes them money. Ruled by Venus, Taurus natives are known for their patience and practicality, qualities that attract steady success.

Astrological alignments favour smart financial decisions and long-term investments. The next half-year could reward Taureans with increased income, business gains, and financial security. After a turbulent stretch, 2025 offers renewed stability and prosperity.

For Aries: Bold and driven, Aries, ruled by Mars, are set to experience transformative growth. The coming months promise a surge in financial opportunities through career moves, strategic investments, or entrepreneurial pursuits. Aries’ natural resilience and risk-taking spirit will be key to unlocking this wealth potential.

For Gemini: Geminis, guided by Mercury, are entering a period ripe with opportunity. With Jupiter amplifying their network and career sphere, valuable collaborations and surprise breakthroughs lie ahead. Flexibility and strategic thinking will open doors to unexpected success and wealth accumulation.

For Leo: Ruled by the Sun, Leos could witness major progress in business and personal growth as this phase favours career transitions, passion projects, and leadership roles that enhance financial status. With determination and planning, Leos may not only meet but exceed their monetary goals within the next six months.

The Psychology Behind Predictions

I wondered why an old mystic’s supposed prediction, floating around in the digital soup of Instagram reels, could wedge itself into my brain and make me feel like something big was about to happen.

And I think it comes down to this: belief is a deeply human impulse. We are wired to find patterns, to connect dots, to see shapes in clouds and omens in traffic lights. I once saw the word “prosper” on a cracked biscuit wrapper the same day I got paid early and for a week, I carried that crinkled foil like a divine receipt. Not because I believed it meant anything. But because it felt like it did. That’s the trap and the magic of belief. It doesn’t need to prove itself. It just needs to arrive at the right moment.

Psychologists would probably say this is apophenia: our tendency to see meaning in random events. Or, its more charming cousin, confirmation bias. When we want something enough, we’ll bend reality to match our desire. We’ll zoom in on a coincidence and call it a clue.

And when life feels uncertain (which, let’s be honest, it usually does), we cling to these clues like lifeboats. Because what’s the alternative? Chaos? A world where things just happen with no narrative arc, no foreshadowing, no payoff? That’s far scarier than Baba Vanga whispering your lucky stars into a video montage.

The thing is, I don’t really believe I’ll become a millionaire in the next six months. But some part of me, the soft and slightly make-believe part wants to. Not because I care about the money (okay, maybe a little), but because I want to feel like I’m on the right track. That something good is lining up for me, just out of frame. That I’m not just floating through this life on vibes and deadlines. I want to believe that the universe has a plan and occasionally, its DM’s you through astrology accounts with glitchy synth music in the background.

Maybe belief is just emotional scaffolding. Maybe coincidence is how the universe flirts with us  a wink, a breadcrumb, a little reminder that something is always happening, even when it looks like nothing is. And maybe, just maybe, if Baba Vanga says Leo is up next, I don’t need to fact-check it. I just need to be ready.
