Woven Nights
Where: Jhaveri Contemporary, Mumbai
There are curious overlaps in the practices of Monika Correa and Seher Shah that emerge in the pairing in Woven Nights. Nearly four decades apart in age, the two women belong to different generations and geographies, separated further by experience and medium. Yet their shared attention to structure, rhythm, and materiality, and the affinities in their visual vocabulary, bind them as if familial. Woven Nights is open for viewing until 18th October 2025.

Mashrabiya
Where: Experimenter, Kolkata
Experimenter presents Mashrabiya, Praneet Soi's third solo at the gallery, bringing together an expansive body of work spanning a decade, at Experimenter – Hindustan Road, Kolkata. Mashrabiya, a latticed, ornate- patterned, wooden window found in medieval Islamic architecture, is often used as a metaphor in Soi's multidimensional and geographically spread practice. Drawing from fraught social, political, economic contexts, historical research, personal encounters, architectural details and a growing archive of media imagery, this exhibition offers a lens into Soi's experimentation with a range of image-tropes and their representation. The art exhibition is running until 26 September.

As It Is
Where: Nature Morte, Delhi
An art exhibition curated by Abir Karmakar at Nature Morte in Delhi, As It Is debuts two monumental paintings amongst other paintings: The Promised Land and Ancestors , which extend the horizon until it becomes as much an idea as a place. In A Promised Land, a single cloud hovers like an island in an endless field of blue. Based on a view from a plane leaving New York, the image was reimagined until it felt both specific and unplaceable, a fragment suspended in the air, a form that could be arriving or dissolving. In Ancestors, undulating sand is caught in a half-light where colour and shadow mark the passing of time. One looks upward, the other down; one holds the stillness of air, the other the shifting weight of earth.

Together, they frame a passage between states of being, speaking to each other in their shared scale, horizon, and sense of transience. The scale of these paintings envelopes the viewer, contradicting our now normal experience of viewing everything in the palm of our hand. The exhibition is open to the viewers until 5th October 2025.
