Rohit Saraf Has Great Hair – And He's Telling Us How!

The face of Kama Ayurveda's Bringaras collection lets us in on his mane secrets

Saurav Bhanot

Why don’t we talk about men & their hair a lot more? They’d certainly love it if we did. Is it because most men aren’t blessed with a lot of it, or a lot of it to talk about? Somewhere between abs and arms, we’ve lost track of what truly makes a man immediately attractive – a great head of hair. No, it’s not how much of it he possesses, but what he’s doing with them that matters. The style, yes, but also the texture and vitality of his mane. The moment you encounter a man, take a good look at his crown jewel – no, it’s not what you’re thinking about – and you’ll find that it’s saying a lot more about him than most other body parts. If his hair is shining, you can be rest assured, so will everything else about him.

Have you ever met a man who has great hair but isn’t so elsewhere?

While you ponder over that, let me bring your attention to a certain somewhere who is great with his hair and is certainly doing well everywhere. Rohit Saraf. The heartthrob of many. Tinsel town’s newest prince charming. And also, the face of Kama Ayurveda’s Bringaras collection, fronting the launch of their Bringaras Densifying & Fortifying Scalp Concentrate. One look at him and you know he knows everything there is to know about good hair, and the secrets behind it. Luckily for you, he spilled them all to us.

Edited excerpts below:

Every man has a unique relationship with his own hair. How would you define it for yourself?

For me, hair has always been a part of feeling like my best self. As an actor, it's obviously connected to my work, but beyond that, it's also about confidence and self-care. I've realised over the years that good hair isn't about chasing perfection; it's about keeping it healthy and giving it the care it deserves. When I know my hair feels strong and healthy, I naturally feel more put together.

Is there a haircare lesson you wish you had learned earlier?

I wish I'd learned much earlier that healthy hair is built through consistency, not quick fixes. There was a time when I'd only pay attention to my hair after I noticed excessive hair fall or damage. But with the lifestyle I have now, I've realized that prevention is far more important than repair. Healthy hair truly starts with a healthy scalp, and that's something I've become much more mindful of.

It's your second year as the face of Kama Ayurveda's Bringaras collection. Tell us how this collection has elevated your hair for the better.

It's been incredibly rewarding to continue this journey with Kama’s Bringaras collection because it has become such an essential part of my haircare routine. With long shoot hours, constant heat styling, products and frequent travel, my hair goes through a lot every single day and so I always look for products that deliver real, long-term care rather than quick fixes. What I love about the Bringaras range is its focus on nourishing the scalp, because healthy, beautiful hair starts at the roots. The new Bringaras Densifying & Fortifying Scalp Concentrate has seamlessly become a part of my daily routine. Over time, I've genuinely noticed my hair feels stronger, healthier, fuller, and far more resilient, giving me the confidence that it's being cared for even through the demands of my lifestyle.

How has BRINGAXYL™, the key complex in the Bringaras collection, worked for you & your hair?

One of the things I really like about BRINGAXYL™, the formula behind the Densifying & Fortifying Scalp Concentrate, is that it focuses on the scalp because I've come to realize that's where healthy hair really begins. I also love that it brings together 13 Ayurvedic ingredients that have been trusted for generations with a more modern, science-backed approach to haircare. The hero ingredient is Bhringaraj, which has long been known in Ayurveda to support healthy hair growth and maintain scalp balance, paired with Red Clover Extract to help support fuller, healthier-looking hair. Since I started using it regularly, my hair has felt stronger, healthier, and a lot more resilient. I've also noticed less breakage and less hair fall while brushing and styling. It's lightweight, easy to work into my routine, and because it doesn't feel like an extra step, staying consistent has been really easy and I think that's what has made the biggest difference.

Is there a hair product you'll never use? And one that's always in your grooming kit?

I try not to say never because everyone's hair is different, but I do stay away from products that feel unnecessarily harsh or leave a lot of build-up on my scalp. The one thing that's always with me is a good leave-in scalp treatment because it's simple to use and keeps my routine consistent, even when I'm travelling or working long hours.

Do you have a haircare ritual that's been passed down in your family that you absolutely swear by?

Growing up, oiling my hair was something everyone at home believed in, and honestly, I didn't always enjoy it back then. But now I completely understand why it was such an important part of our routine. Taking a few minutes to massage your scalp not only supports healthy hair and a balanced scalp, but also gives you a chance to slow down and care for yourself. It's one of those rituals that's stayed with me over the years, and today it's a part of my routine that I genuinely love.

What are some of the key grooming steps you must absolutely do to feel well turned out at all times?

For me, grooming is really about the basics done well. Clean, healthy hair, well-moisturised skin, staying hydrated and getting enough rest go a long way. I don't believe in overdoing things. When you take care of yourself consistently, you don't need to spend too much time getting ready because you already feel confident walking out the door.

Apart from using quality products, are there any lifestyle changes you've made that have greatly helped your hair?

Absolutely. I've realized that healthy hair reflects your overall lifestyle more than we often think. Getting enough sleep, staying hydrated, eating balanced meals with plenty of protein, and managing stress have all made a noticeable difference for me. I've learned that no product can fully make up for poor habits, so I try to see haircare as an extension of taking care of my overall well-being.

Since men are always looking for tips on how to have better hair, would you have a few you'd like to share?

My biggest piece of advice is to keep it simple and stay consistent. Don't wait until hair fall becomes a concern before you start taking care of your hair. Healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp, and a few minutes of care every day can make a real difference over time. Beyond that, I try to avoid excessive heat styling when I'm not shooting, I use a microfibre towel to dry my hair, and choose products that suit my hair and scalp. I also focus on eating a balanced diet because healthy hair starts from within. Most importantly, be patient. Strong, healthy hair isn't built overnight. It's the result of small, consistent habits that you stick with over time.
