A Times of India report says the film could premiere on November 12, 2026, around four weeks after its cinema release. Amazon Prime Video has reportedly bought the digital rights in a deal worth around ₹160 crore. Neither the platform nor the makers have confirmed a premiere date.
The same report says the streaming cut may carry around 30 minutes of additional footage, with Santhanam’s cameo, reportedly dropped from the theatrical version, also rumoured to return. It adds that the extra time could restore longer sequences featuring Mohanlal, Vijay Sethupathi and Hrithik Roshan. The makers have yet to confirm an extended or uncut edition.
The sequel to the 2023 blockbuster Jailer brings Rajinikanth back as retired jailer Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. Set three months after the first film, the story follows Muthuvel as he takes on a powerful idol-smuggling syndicate and the Kalpak family, led by patriarch Chakri Kalpak.
With enemies closing in and his past catching up with him, Tiger leans on his allies to bring the network down. The cast includes Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa, SJ Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan and Suraj Venjaramoodu. Mohanlal, Hrithik Roshan and Shivarajkumar appear in guest roles.
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures, Jailer 2 has had a commanding theatrical run. It crossed Rs 800 crore worldwide within 18 days. Sacnilk’s tracking puts its worldwide gross at approximately Rs 816.90 crore after 20 days, as of November 3, 2026.
