Every GTA 6 fan has played detective at some point, armed with nothing but a billboard and a hunch. Most of the time, the case goes cold. This time, one X account cracked it. On September 17, GTAVI_Countdown hinted that Rockstar Games could make a fresh announcement that same day, and the developer showed up on cue. There was no trailer and no gameplay, though. Instead, they got Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, proof that the internet's favourite guessing game occasionally pays off, even when it gets only half the plot right.
The hunch wasn't pulled out of thin air. Several artists had been sharing GTA 6-themed artwork, and Spotify-sponsored billboards had popped up in Miami, Los Angeles, and New York. Music was clearly in the air, even if nobody said it out loud.

Then came the calendar work. The X account pointed to Rockstar's habit of dropping news on Thursdays, with the cover art, pre-orders, the Extended Look announcement, and the Extended Look itself all revealed that way. And September 17 happened to be the 13th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto V, which is the kind of date fans circle in red.
Rockstar's answer was a 34-track official soundtrack made in partnership with Atlantic Records. It will launch alongside Grand Theft Auto VI on November 19 and is already open for pre-save across major streaming services. Six singles are out too, featuring Yung Lean, Future, Metro Boomin, Travis Scott, Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro and Keith Richards.

Collectors get their share as well. Vinyl and CD editions are planned, with limited runs including liquid-filled and splatter vinyl, plus retailer-exclusive colourways and artwork. Rockstar also teased more on the game's dynamic score and an updated in-game radio experience.
