GTA Online will survive GTA 6 Online launch. Last year, Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick told IGN he would not talk about a particular project before an announcement, but he did point to precedent.
NBA 2K Online launched in China in 2012, NBA 2K Online 2 followed in 2017, and the first game was never sunset. Both are still in the market.
"So we've shown a willingness to support legacy titles when a community wants to be engaged with them," Zelnick said. That means, Zelnick sees a market so huge that it will accommodate both GTA Online and GTA 6 Online at the same time. Will that happen? That will be decided if GTA 6 matches the hype currently surrounding the game.
