There’s no dearth of cross-industry collabs to keep track of when you’re a horology enthusiast. But the one collab you would know about even if you have no idea what a loupe is, is Omega’s three-decade-old reputation as the watch James Bond wears in his unthinkable missions (yep, 007 has worn everything from TAG Heuer to Rolex up till GoldenEye, where the Seamaster became the spy’s preferred timepiece).

So it tracks that even the video game adaptation of James Bond, 007: First Light, will feature an Omega on the spy’s wrist. And starting today, the video game watch is now available for sale in the real world. Say hello to Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Chronograph 007 First Light.

The watch (real-life one, that is) was developed alongside its virtual counterpart during the making of the upcoming Bond video game by IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios. In the game, the watch is supposed to act as a hacking device and a laser weapon the 26-year0old protagonist wears to make his way through the more difficult missions (though we're sure these use cases don't hold up in real life). The case measures 44mm in diameter, 17mm thick, and approximately 53mm lug-to-lug, produced in polished and brushed stainless steel.

It’s built on the Seamaster Diver 300M Chronograph that Omega introduced in 2019, a year after the core Diver 300M collection was updated. Characteristic Seamaster architecture carries throughout: lyre-shaped lugs, curved crown guards, and a conical helium escape valve at 10 o'clock. The pushers are rendered in black polished ceramic. Sapphire crystals adorn both the front and the caseback, and the watch is certified to 300 metres of water resistance.

The bezel is unidirectional, fitted with a black polished ceramic insert and a 60-minute white enamel diving scale. The dial is constructed from black polished ceramic with the collection's signature laser-engraved wave texture. Two details differentiate this edition from the standard black Chronograph reference: a subdial ring at 3 o'clock finished in bronze-gold PVD, and a central chronograph seconds hand in the same bronze-gold coating. All remaining hands and indexes are rhodium-plated with white Super-LumiNova fill. The "Seamaster" name appears in red, and the caseback presents a 007 First Light logo rendered in black on the inner surface of the sapphire glass.

Inside beats the Calibre 9900, an in-house Omega automatic shared across multiple references in the manufacturer's catalogue, among them the Speedmaster Pilot, the Planet Ocean Chronograph, and the Speedmaster Racing. The architecture is integrated, with a column wheel and vertical clutch governing the chronograph function, and twin barrels providing a 60-hour power reserve. The escapement is Co-Axial, the certification is Master Chronometer, and the movement has been independently verified to withstand magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss. Internal decoration follows standard house practice: Geneva stripes in Arabesque, blackened screws, and red lettering.

The watch ships on a NATO strap in black, grey, and beige; a colourway shared with the No Time to Die edition, though with a different pattern. Six additional NATO straps are sold separately within Omega's accessories range, each designed to mirror a playable strap variant from within the game.

There’s a lot that has been going on in the James Bond world lately, least of which is the never-ending question of who will be the next James Bond now that Daniel Craig has bowed out of the role. But one thing is certain at this point: no matter who plays 007 or in which format, the watch on his wrist never changes.
