How To Throw A Proper Wimbledon Semi and Final Watch Party (Without All The Fluff)

Your apartment doesn't need to turn into the Royal Box but you can bring the hill home

Look, you're not on Centre Court. We can only imagine sitting at the Royal Box while we catch the semi-finals of the Grand Slam on our royally comfortable couches.

Although, it is another year of many of us to catch Djokovic (probably the last few times we'll see him play) from our 4K flat-screen telly, unlike some we can avoid the heatwave that is looming over the English Kingdom this summer.

Of course, we're fighting off the July heat and expectedly unexpected occasional downpour in Mumbai this year by blasting our ACs all while indulging in daydreaming of enjoying the slow-burn magic of Centre Court right now.

So, if any shred of this is true for you, how about recreating the sophistication of SW19 in TV room. Just because you're bothered by the unbearable honking outside doesn't mean, the Wimbledon matches - semi finals between Alcaraz and Fritz ; Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic need to feel like other background streams.

If the dread can be stretched a little further then let's be frank, it's unlikely that any of us are flying out to be on Henman Hill this week and the closest we're getting to strawberries and cream is food deliveries. But you and your Tennis enthusiastic friends can still make it feel like an event- minus the tweed and fake British accents.

The point is: the fridge isn’t empty. Drinks arrive before the first serve, not halfway through the tie‑break. If you don't want to bother yourself by ordering too much food during the game, a charcuterie board would be perfect. To

Phones are down

You are not at work so you don't need to juggle three things at a time and have your little attention span all over the place. It is a game to enjoy. So relax, put your phones on silent mode, lock your social media apps for the next 3 hours and enjoy the magic live.

While you don't need to follow the all whites rule, a clen polo, shorts, or jeans would be a nice change. Something that signals: this matters.

Take Care of The Tech

You don't need a 9-speaker surround. Honestly, even a decent soundbar or Bluetooth speaker aimed at the centre of the room makes a difference. A simple tip is to prioritise dialogue and court ambience over bass. The hush at30-40? That's the soul of Centre court.

A pro tip would be since you'd be streaming the match in India, avoid going for a cheap subscription. Pick one without ads, you'll thank the lords later. And test your WiFi 10 minutes before the game, if need be kick off other network from other devices. Nothing kills big moment than last-minute buffering at 6-6 in the breaker.

That's all you need really. Good game, good company and great moments!
