Speaking to New York Times, Dr. Emily Contois, the author of Diners, Dudes, and Diets: How Gender and Power Collide in Food Media and Culture said that the word "boy" in boy kibble softens what could be perceived as toxically masculine consumptive behaviours. Primarily, sought-after by fitness-focused individuals, boy kibble is a portioned meal that provides sufficient carbs from the rice, protein from the meat and other nutrients from vegetables. It is a budget-friendly option for those who are looking for maximum output and minimum effort recipe.
In fact, many experts have claimed that the popular and convenient recipe single-handedly overcomes many barriers that young men commonly report to be insufficient. Moreover, the low-effort quality of the preparing the bowl of kibble has helped many young men to effectively indulge in preparing the meal, planning the food and cooking it, putting their essential skills at test.
However, health experts also warn that eating the same kind of meal every day can mean you are skip on nutrients that are low in those meals.

How Healthy is Boy Kibble?
The two main ingredients of boy kibble are rice and minced meat. Though TikTokers are mainly consuming grounded beef, one can swap it with other alternatives including turkey, chicken, mutton.
While mince is the most important source of protein in the meal, it also has other necessary nutrients for the body including Iron and Vitamin B12, the white rice on the other hand that mainly has carbs, some protein and Vitamin B as well as manganese that helps with bone metabolism and wound healing.
However, if you skip the vegetables with your kibble bowl, you are missing out fibers. So, as much as the carbs and proteins are necessary, so is fibrous food.

According to dietitians, eating the same food everyday may not give you all the required nutrients as no single good has everything. So, if you are planning on making boy kibble you lunch, dinner and breakfast, experts say you should be careful. While boy kibble isn't necessarily bad for you, repetitively consuming the same meal that is mainly rich in protein and carbs, may cause deficiencies in vitamin, phosphorous, omegas, minerals and more.
