To Richmond, we return!
Well... Ted Lasso is back, officially!
In news most were eagerly waiting for, Apple TV+ officially announced the return of Ted Lasso with a video stating that production for the much-loved show's 4th season has begun. The said video features Jason Sudeikis as his titular character along with Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham), Juno Temple (Keeley Jones) and Jeremy Swift (Leslie Higgins) sitting at a table chatting, and everyone's been losing their minds with excitement since.
While not much else has been revealed about the show as yet, there's a bit more that one can now be sure of regarding the fourth season of the show.
Along with the aforementioned cast members, Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent) and Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard) are also returning to reprise their parts. Goldstein is anyway part of the show's writing team as well. Additionally, Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack and Faye Marsay form some of the new cast members joining the show.
Phil Dunster (Jamie Tartt), however, hasn't been confirmed as part of the cast yet. Nor have most of the other players from the Richmond team.
As per the official brief regarding the show's fourth season, Ted is back in the UK.
"Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.”
This probably explains why there's been no news so far regarding the male Richmond players joining the cast. But hey, we can't rule out their cameos, right? The show would certainly be more fun with Tartt and Kent sparring against each other, one more time, isn't it?
Honestly, no word on that yet. But since the show has started filming and there's still half of this year left, we're hopeful it'll come out sometime next year, for sure. In the first half, that is. We'd certainly like that. The whole world will. For it's better with a new episode of Ted Lasso to stream.
