Percy Jackson And The Olympians Season 3 Is Coming Out Sooner Than You Would Think
The Titan's Curse will finally be adapted for television
Spoilers for Percy Jackson and The Olympians Season 2 ahead.
By now, one of the biggest icks about TV shows that feature child actors is that you have to wait ages between two seasons, and by the time a new season comes, the actors portraying teens on screen aren't teens anymore (looking at you, Stranger Things and Wednesday).
To counter that, Disney+ greenlit season 3 of Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, well before season 2 dropped. And now, we are on our way to getting PJO Season 3 this year.
Yep, that's right. In case you missed it, the final episode of season 2, The Fleece Works It's Magic Too Well, premiered today. With Luke (Charlie Bushnell) marching his army of rogue demi-gods and giants to Camp Half-Blood, it's revealed that his plan with the Golden Fleece is not to destroy Thalia's tree, but use the Golden Fleece to revive her (Tamara Smart) to fight for Kronos. Percy (Walker Scobell) rallies the campers for a final fight, although, by the end of the episode, Thalia is revived, and a big twist changes everything we knew about her transformation. Thalia, we learn was turned into a tree not to protect her from the Furies, but because she refused to fight on Zeus' (Courtney B. Vance) side after being manipulated by the winged creatures.
The season ends on a tense note, building up to the events of The Titan's Curse. As the episode draws to a close, the screen fades to black, and amidst a frozen backdrop, the third season of Percy Jackson And The Olympians is announced to release this year.
If all goes accordingly, season 3 is all set to adapt the third book of Riordan's series, which means it's the first time we will get a Percy Jackson season that hasn't already been adapted (read spoiled) by the 2010s Logan Lerman starring films yet. The Titan's Curse will feature Percy and his friends embark on a journey to save the abducted Annabeth (Leah Jeffries) and the goddess Artemis from the manticore, Dr. Thorn. The sky-bearing Atlas will be the main antagonist, and we will finally get the live adaptation of the iconic scenes where Percy and Annabeth each hold up the sky.
The official date for the drop hasn't been announced yet, but by the looks of it, it won't be too far from the present.
