Panchayat: India's Most Loved Workplace Comedy
This is not a drill (or a Water tank) Jitu Bhaiya And The Cast Of Panchayat Are Coming Back
Brace yourselves, the hit series Panchayat is coming back for another Season in 2025. Phulera's chaotic calm will be inviting us for a visit in July as Amazon Prime Video announces the release of Season 4 - -July 2.
With romance between Abhishekh and Pradhan ji's daugther, Rinki, kicking off and village politics peaking in Season 3, our desi souls are ready for another bumpy ride through the lanes of Phulera.

While Panchayat doesn't serve us that high-octane drama, its garnered a popularity so much so that it was referenced in one of the parliamentary discussions last winter. The show thrives on chai breaks, heartbreaks, village simplicity, and warm absurdity.

But here's the thing, while the Amazon Prime Video series takes us through hilarious drama at Phulera, a fictional village in Uttar Pradesh, its also India's most loved workplace comedy. Overshadowing the glass cabins and ergonomic chairs, the real arena is the village.
Abhishek Tripathi (Jitendra Kumar) started out as the sulking urban guy stuck in a remote village working for the panchayat office as the secretary of the village. But three seasons in, he not only qualifies his CAT exam but also falls in love with the village, its people, its simplicity, and of course, Pradhan's daughter.
His journey shifts from what looked like a fish-out-of-water story to a duck-in-water one as he finds himself doing a masterclass in team dynamics, HR crises, people management, and dealing with hostile stakeholders- Hi, Banrakas!

We see Abhishekh go from an uncertain, disgruntled, and frankly reluctant employee to one that learns to manage complex situations (not in the best ways possible all the time, but man gets the job done). Whether its the monitor crisis, the ego clash over a chair, or comforting Prahlad during his son's funeral, Sachiv ji (secretary) learns to manage his workplace chaos and gets the job done.
What's genius about the show without trying too hard captures the everyday (although a little extraordinary in Season 3) messiness of work life. Just without the cooling effect of an air conditioner. Its relatable in the way that a senior knows the ins and outs but will pretend otherwise- coughs Manju Devi ji * - and your day at work gets better with genuinely kind and supportive but occasionally clueless work buddy like Vikas.
The difference? The office politics of Phulera is much more raw and unfiltered. So, the upcoming season isn't just about us getting hosted and entertained by the people of Phulera, its time for the members of Phulera Panchayat committee to report on duty.
