Kattalan (ManoramaMAX) – August 13

Antony Varghese Pepe plays Antony, a skilled man who infiltrates the inner circle of crime boss Maari after he takes control of a remote village on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border. Maari's operation is exploiting the surrounding forest land, including reportedly smuggling ivory through routes known to the locals. Antony embeds himself within the operation with the aim of bringing it down from the inside, but his mission changes after he witnesses the damage being done to the villagers and their home.

Directed by Paul George, Kattalan also stars Sunil, Kabir Duhan Singh, Jagadish, Dushara Vijayan, Hipster and Hanan Shah. Tamil director Lokesh Kanagaraj and filmmaker Alphonse Puthren appear in cameos.

Aroopi (Prime Video) – August 14

Aroopi begins generations ago, when a vengeful spirit named Padmini is sealed inside a doll at the Aryanattu family estate. Two thieves accidentally break the seal, releasing the spirit. The story then moves to the present, where Niranjan, the estate's last surviving heir, returns home following a brutal killing.

Niranjan is also dealing with schizophrenia, and director Abhilash Warrier uses this to blur the line between a supernatural haunting and what may be happening in his mind. This gives the supernatural horror thriller a psychological edge beyond its central ghost story.

Bigg Boss Malayalam 8 - Agnipareeksha (JioHotstar) – August 15

Agnipareeksha serves as a pre-show for Bigg Boss Malayalam 8, giving common people a chance to compete for direct entry into the main Bigg Boss Malayalam house, which continues to be hosted by Mohanlal. Rather than focusing solely on established celebrities, the format introduces a separate competition to select contestants from the public.

Ranjini Haridas, Reneesha Rahiman, Riyas Salim and Akhil Marar are associated with the format. The pre-show has also attracted attention for its stage design and familiar faces from previous seasons.
