South Indian OTT Releases This Week (August 10- 16, 2026)

Here are the latest South Indian OTT releases this week across Malayalam and Telugu, with details on their streaming platforms and release dates. The leading actors include Antony Varghese, Vysakh Ravi, Thrigun, Sreemukhi, Suma Kanakala, and others.

Kattalan (ManoramaMAX) – August 13

Antony Varghese plays Antony, nicknamed Kattalan or ‘the hunter,’ a man pulled into a violent turf war over illegal ivory smuggling in the Aanakolli forest. The story, set in 1995, centres on two rival networks: one run by a mafia kingpin named Mari, played by Sunil, and another led by a man called Eddie. Antony starts out as Mari's most trusted man before turning against him, and that betrayal drives most of the film's back half.

Director Paul George positions this as a spin-off within the same cinematic world as Mikhael and Marco, and there's a mid-film cameo from Tamil director Lokesh Kanagaraj playing a new player angling to take over the smuggling trade once the dust settles. The film released in theatres on May 28 to a mixed response and modest box office, but it's arriving on OTT with its ensemble cast intact, including Kabir Duhan Singh, Dushara Vijayan, Jagadish and Siddique.

Aroopi (Prime Video) – August 14

This Malayalam horror thriller opens centuries in the past, when a vengeful spirit named Padmini is sealed inside a doll at the Aryanattu family estate. In the present day, two thieves accidentally free her. The story then follows Niranjan, played by Vysakh Ravi, the last surviving heir of the Aryanattu family and a man already dealing with schizophrenia, who is pulled back to the estate after a brutal murder and has to confront both the family curse and his own unravelling grip on what's real.

Director Abhilash Warrier, who also wrote the film, builds the horror around the doll and the estate rather than jump scares alone, and Neha Chawla plays the dual role of Padmini and the spirit possessing her.

Mr Work From Home (SunNXT) – August 14

Thrigun stars as Arvind, a corporate employee who has built his entire identity around the idea that remote work solves everything. When he decides to work from his native village instead of the city, his laptop-and-broadband routine collides head-on with a community that runs on very different rules. What starts as a culture-clash comedy shifts once Arvind unexpectedly gets pulled into farming, using his tech background to modernise how the village grows its crops. Alongside the agricultural plot, he's also navigating a relationship with Payal Radhakrishna's character and a family that isn't entirely sure what to make of him.

Bigg Boss: The Common Man (JioHotstar) – August 16

This is a new digital pre-show built specifically to cast Bigg Boss Tamil's milestone tenth season, titled Carnivizha. Everyday contestants, not celebrities, compete for a handful of direct spots in the main house, with the selection process hosted by Maya S Krishnan and judged by Aari, Raaju and Oviya, all familiar faces from earlier Bigg Boss Tamil seasons. Whoever wins moves straight into the main season, which Vijay Sethupathi will host for a third consecutive year when it begins in September, marking ten years of the franchise on Tamil television.

Bigg Boss Telugu 10 – Agnipariksha (JioHotstar) – August 15

The Telugu version runs the same idea: a standalone digital pre-show where shortlisted commoners compete for entry into the main Bigg Boss Telugu house. Sreemukhi, Abijeet, Bindu Madhavi and Navdeep are attached to the pre-show, putting contestants through a tighter, faster elimination format than the main season allows. Whoever earns a spot moves on to the flagship show, which Nagarjuna Akkineni continues to host.

Chef Mantra Project USA (Aha Video) – August 13

Hosts Suma Kanakala and Jeevan Kumar take the familiar cooking-competition format and relocate it entirely to the United States, with contestants who are all based there. Expect kitchen mishaps and last-minute ingredient swaps played mostly for laughs rather than fine-dining seriousness, aimed at viewers who want a cooking show they don't have to concentrate too hard on.
