Who doesn’t love a steamy, forbidden office romance? And honestly, who does it better than K-dramas?  Filing for Love is the latest entry in this very specific subgenre — the office rom-com with a side of corporate intrigue — and it's on the path to become one of the most-watched dramas of the season (after Perfect Crown, of course).

Produced by CJ ENM (who has aced the yearn formula at this point) and led by Shin Hye-sun and Gong Myung, the show has already pulled No. 1 rankings on Rakuten Viki's weekly charts across the Americas, Europe, Oceania, the Middle East, and North Africa. In India, it currently sits at No. 2. Meanwhile, the Korean ratings have been just as healthy.

Shin Hye-sun And Gong Myung: A Workplace Pairing We’re Growing To Love

Shin Hye-sun has been on a remarkable run — Mr. Queen, Welcome to Samdal-ri, See You In My 19th Life, Dear Hyeri, and most recently the Netflix mystery thriller The Art of Sarah. At the press conference for Filing for Love, she admitted that after Sarah, she'd been actively waiting for something lighter to take the edge off.

Gong Myung, meanwhile, has built his career on the romance-adjacent end of the spectrum — Second Shot at Love, Lovers of the Red Sky, Way Back Love — with detours into Netflix's Mercy for None and Season 2 of Bloodhounds. He's a natural fit for the wounded-ace-employee energy the role demands.

The supporting cast is stacked too: Kim Jae-wook as the family heir Jeon Jae-yeol, Hong Hwa-yeon as his secretary Park A-jeong, with Son Ji-yoon and Jeon Gook-hwan rounding things out.

What Filing For Love Is Actually About

Right, the premise. Filing for Love is set inside the internal audit department of the Haemu Group — a company so vast that it requires three separate audit teams to investigate every flavour of corporate impropriety. Noh Ki-jun (Gong) is the department's golden boy, with a track record of cracking the big cases: corruption, espionage, the works.

Enter Joo In-a (Shin), the icy, exacting executive who returns to HQ after a stint overseas and is promptly installed as manager over the whole audit floor. Her first move? Demoting Ki-jun to Team 3 — the department that handles affairs, employee complaints, and, in one memorable early case, a flatulent colleague.

Ki-jun, predictably, takes this personally. When he gets an anonymous tip that In-a might be hiding her own office indiscretion, he sees an opening for revenge. What he doesn't see coming is the part where they actually start working well together — and where her cold exterior turns out to be hiding something far more interesting than he'd bargained for.
