Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, the film is inspired by the life and teachings of Neem Karoli Baba, popularly known as Maharaj Ji. SonyLIV confirmed on November 6 that Hanuman Ansh will begin streaming on its platform from November 27. Viewers can watch the film through the app and website, subject to their subscription plan.
Hanuman Ansh arrived in cinemas on August 7, 2026, without the kind of opening usually associated with major Hindi releases. It began its theatrical run with approximately Rs 10 lakh on its first day and collected around Rs 1.5 crore during its first two weeks. However, audience word of mouth gradually changed its fortunes, bringing a noticeable rise in footfalls from its third week onwards.
According to Sacnilk's box-office tracking, the film had collected approximately Rs 342.75 crore net in India and Rs 453.22 crore worldwide by November 6. Its steady theatrical run, which extended beyond 90 days, made it one of the notable box-office success stories of 2026.
The film follows Lakshminarayan, a young boy who loses his mother and begins searching for answers about God, life and death. His journey eventually leads him towards becoming Neem Karoli Baba. Inspired by Vishal Chaturvedi's book Divine Detour: That Changed My Life, the film explores faith, devotion and selfless service.
Shobhinaw Satyaa plays Neem Karoli Baba, with Vihaan Shedge, Chandan Anand, Purnima Tiwari, Anil Rastogi, Gulshan Pandey and Bhagvandas Patel in supporting roles.
