Fallout Season 2: It’s Twice The Action & The Double The Fun
The Amazon Prime Video series gets it right a second time & makes it even better!
In a lot of ways, it’s the show that came out of nowhere and made a place in the hearts & minds of audiences world over.
When Amazon Prime Video’s Fallout first released back in 2024, it was almost immediately lapped up viewers across markets and won massive critical acclaim for its screenplay and performances. Based on the video game franchise of the same name, the post-apocalyptic drama series has seen become quite a fan favourite with everyone quite eager to find out how the story continues in subsequent seasons.
Well... it’s time to find out exactly that as the show is back for season 2 and might we say, things are looking better than ever and it’s going to be quite the wild ride!
Picking up from where things were left at the end of season 1, Fallout season 2 begins with all lead characters in different places – Lucy (Ella Purnell) and the Ghoul (Walton Higgins) are looking for Lucy’s father & still agreeing to disagree on everything, while Maximus (Aaron Moten) is back to the Brotherhood of Steel, now with more status. Then there’s the whole cold fusion technology that’s like a hanging sword over the ‘world’ should it land in the hands of the wrong person.
If season 1 was all about world building when it comes to characters and their settings, Fallout season 2 throws you right into the action as characters get busy (almost immediately) with the goings-on. There’s so much happening in almost every scene – the characters don’t get a moment’s rest; nor do you as viewers. But it’s so much fun, you’d not want it to be any other way either.
Additionally, the season also introduces New Vegas to the show. If you’re familiar with the video game, you’d know how crucial this new location is to the plotline.
That’s not all – the new season has a bunch of exciting new additions to the cast. Most prominently, Justin Theroux joins the action as the CEO of RobCo industries and the actor is top notch, clearly having fun with the part. If his character reminds of you one too many real-life businessmen, while it’s totally incidental, it’s probably the entire point too.
To reveal anything more would be to reveal crucial plotlines and spoilers which is something we’re obviously not going to do. But we can reveal is that the second season is many notches higher than its predecessor in terms of scale, set design, action choreography along with plotlines, drama and performances.
Walton Higgins is, as expected, the shining star of the show, along with Ella Purnell who’s just as incredible as the central protagonist. The two of them are certainly one of the best parts of the show along with Theroux, to be honest. The ideological battle between their characters also ends up making you wonder on which side of the battle you’d be if you were to find yourself in a similar dystopian situation!
For fans of the video game, the series continues to be a worthy adaptation. And for those who enjoyed the first season, this second one is going to be totally worth your time!
The first episode of Fallout Season 2 is now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video with a new episode releasing every week.
