Everything You Should Know About Adolescence Season 2
The Netflix show was a winner at Golden Globes 2026
Ever since the Stephen Graham and Jack Thorne written Netflix series Adolescence dropped last March, the world hasn’t stopped singing its praises and awards season has followed suit. With eight Emmy wins in 2025 and four Golden Globes at the 83rd annual ceremony, the show has quickly cemented itself as one of the most acclaimed series on television.
Praised for its credible storytelling, impeccable performances, and striking cinematography, the crime thriller stars Owen Cooper—who went on to win Best Actor in a TV Show at the 2026 Golden Globes—alongside Stephen Graham, Erin Doherty, and Ashley Walters. Unsurprisingly, the series has remained firmly in the spotlight.
Given its massive success and the conversations it sparked around incel culture, toxic masculinity, and the manosphere, the limited series has, since its release, been dogged by one question: will there be another season?
In an earlier interview with TUDUM, Graham, who co-created the show with Jack Thorne, suggested the story was always meant to end where it began—in Jamie’s bedroom. “This is where the person who Jamie became was created,” he explained, hinting at a definitive conclusion.
However, recent award wins and comments have reignited the rumour mill. Speaking to Variety, Graham teased that “there’s the possibility of developing another story. We’ll see how the figures are,” leaving the door very much ajar.
Adding further fuel to the speculation, Graham addressed the possibility again after collecting his Golden Globe on Sunday. Fresh from winning Male Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology or TV Movie, he told Deadline: “I cannot answer that question because it’s somewhere in the deep recesses of my mind and Jack’s mind, and we’ll pull it out in three or four years, so stay tuned.”
Deadline had previously reported back in April that a second season was being explored. That same month, Plan B co-presidents Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner revealed they were in discussions with director Philip Barantini about the “next iteration” of the show. Gardner added that the team was considering how to “widen the aperture, stay true to its DNA [and] not be repetitive,” though she stopped short of sharing further details. Right now, a Season 2 of the show is purely speculative.
Adolescence is a gripping crime thriller told through one-take episodes, following 13-year-old Jamie Miller (Cooper), who is arrested for the murder of a girl from his school. Directed by Philip Barantini, the Netflix series became an instant global hit upon its March 2025 release. Capturing the turbulent and transformative years of teenage life with remarkable authenticity, the show explores themes of identity, bullying, peer pressure, and the impact of social media while shining a stark light on the dangers of incel culture and its effects on the male psyche.
