Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Cliff Booth is a stuntman best known as the longtime stunt double and closest confidant of fading TV star Rick Dalton in Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 film. 8 years later after kicking a** and absolutely demolishing the Manson Family intruders in Dalton's Hollywood house while high on acid, he is coming back and his story is supposedly picking up as now something of a Hollywood studio fixer in 1997.

The film titled The Adventures of Cliff Booth starring Brad Pitt returning as the stuntman philosopher king of late-’70s Hollywood coo will be directed by David Fincher and is written by none other than Quentin Tarantino himself.

According to industry reports, Netflix is eyeing a more robust cinema rollout for the film, suggesting this isn’t just another streaming drop.

Set in 1977, the film finds Booth older, sharper, and reportedly operating as a Hollywood studio fixer, which feels like the most Cliff Booth career path imaginable. Pitt is joined by a stacked cast that includes Elizabeth Debicki, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Holt McCallany, and Timothy Olyphant—one of the few returning faces from Tarantino’s original fairy tale of Tinseltown.

Moreover, behind the camera, Fincher reunites with Pitt for the first time since The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, marking the long-awaited return of one of cinema’s most potent actor-director pairings. With Fincher’s exacting menace, Tarantino’s dialogue crackle, and Pitt’s effortless gravity, The Adventures of Cliff Booth already feels less like a sequel and more like a victory lap.

When Quentin Tarantino introduced Booth in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood in 2019, he wasn’t introduced as a supporting character. In fact, for most of the movie he is a walking rebuttal to modern anxiety.

Booth, played with laconic authority by Brad Pitt, is a stuntman by trade and by temperament: the longtime double, driver, handyman, and best friend of fading TV star Rick Dalton played by Leonardo DiCaprio. At the same time, he’s also, as the film ultimately makes clear, a man capable of astonishing violence when pushed.

In Tarantino’s revisionist finale, Booth single-handedly dismantles members of the Manson Family who invade Dalton’s home, aided only by an acid-dipped cigarette and his impeccably trained pit bull, Brandy. It’s one of the most brutal and perversely cathartic endings in Tarantino’s filmography.

The Adventures of Cliff Booth, the Tarantino-penned spin-off starring Brad Pitt and directed by David Fincher, is targeting a Summer 2026 release, with Netflix planning a potentially strong theatrical debut before its streaming launch, according to recent industry reports
