Manav Kaul Leads Netflix's New Horror Thriller 'Baramulla'
The film is out on November 7
There's no such thing as too many thrillers, particularly on OTT platforms, and here comes another one!
Even as Aditya Dhar gets ready for the release of his own directorial venture (Dhurandhar) later this year, he's been keeping busy as a producer as well, especially in November. There's Haq that releases in theatres on November 7, and on the same day, his other production comes out on Netflix.
Starring Manav Kaul and Bhasha Sumbli in the lead roles, Baramulla is the next major thriller on the streaming platform, and judging by the trailer, it's definitely looking promising.
Kashmir has been mainstream (in terms of movies and shows) for quite a while now but somehow atmospheric thrillers have rarely been set there. It's mostly been a hotbed for political tales, which is what makes Baramulla different than the others. Which is saying a lot since thrillers (especially on Netflix) have started to seem a bit similar, haven't they?
Kaul stars as a cop who's investigating the disappearance of a kid in the city. The more he digs into the case, the murkier it gets, before he realises that ain't a conventional case by any stretch of imagination. Sumbli stars as a mother who is hiding her own secrets, even as her daughter is battling some demons, quite literally.
It's all dark and devastating, while also being thrilling and chilling. If the movie can manage to keep its pacing on point, it's going to make for a riveting watch.
The film releases on November 7 so it's not too long, and Kaul as an actor is always worth rooting for. We'll be seated for a good time at the movies, for sure.
