Mumbai's electronic music scene has received a significant boost with the announcement of DJ Snake's headlining performance at the Sunburn Festival 2026. The news is particularly significant for his devoted fans, as the artist's planned concert tour in the country was canceled earlier this year.
The dates to keep in mind are December 18-19, 2026. The festival will take place at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse, known mostly for its equestrian events, yet capable of accommodating large crowds. This venue sits at the center of three different locations that have hosted the festival over the years, starting with Goa where Sunburn has been held for nearly two decades. After that, the festival organizers moved to the Infinity Bay located in Sewri, and now, in 2026, they are carrying out the festival even deeper in the city. Location changes indicate the ambitions of the festival to improve its service and reach a bigger audience.
Other than DJ Snake the event lineup also includes The Chainsmokers. The Grammy-winning duo (Drew Taggart and Alex Pall) will headline, as part of a broader three-city India tour that also includes Delhi and Bengaluru. Additionally also confirmed is Sebastian Ingrosso, which is sure to increase the international appeal of the festival. The participation of these artists is remarkable not just because of their stellar reputation in entertainment circles but also their diversity: the artist Sebastian Ingrosso was a member of the famous group Swedish House Mafia known for house music, The Chainsmokers are known for their pop music, while DJ Snake mixes trap music with mainstream EDM.
In addition to performing at the festival in Mumbai, DJ Snake has also confirmed his participation at a Sunburn Arena show scheduled in Bengaluru on Dec 18, ahead of his show in Mumbai.
Tickets are already up for sale on BookMyShow for this event, where the ticket for a single day will cost around ₹3500, while the overall process will require around ₹7000. It is said that because of the rising popularity of the event, ticket prices might grow even further.
