Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2026 has spotlighted India’s evolving cocktail culture, with three standout venues making the list. Goa’s Boilermaker leads at No. 8 and is crowned Best Bar in India, while Bengaluru strengthens its status as the country’s cocktail capital with SOKA at No. 18 and Bar Spirit Forward at No. 30, all praised for inventive, locally rooted drinks.

Asia's cocktail scene had its biggest night in Macau as Asia's 50 Best Bars 2026 unveiled this year's rankings, celebrating the venues shaping drinking culture across the continent. While India's presence shrank from five bars last year to three this time, the country's showing was stronger than the numbers suggest. Goa's Boilermaker stormed into the top 10 and was named Best Bar in India, while Bengaluru further cemented its reputation as the country's cocktail capital with two entries. Here's a look at the three Indian bars that earned a place on Asia's most prestigious bar list.

Boilermaker, Goa (No. 8)

Goa's Boilermaker was India's highest-ranked bar this year, climbing from No. 30 in 2025 to an impressive No. 8 and earning the title of Best Bar in India. Tucked away in Siolim, the unassuming space embraces Goa's laid-back susegad spirit, proving that world-class hospitality doesn't require lavish interiors. Its cocktails celebrate local ingredients and flavours, with drinks such as the Biso Manana Karamel featuring Goan spirit dukshiri.

SOKA, Bengaluru (No. 18)

Bengaluru favourite SOKA continued its upward climb, rising from No. 28 last year to No. 18 in the 2026 rankings. Founded by chef Sombir Choudhary and bartender Avinash Kapoli, the Indiranagar bar takes its name from the founders' initials and has become known for cocktails inspired by Bengaluru's culture, nostalgia, and neighbourhood icons. Signature creations such as Black Cadillac pay tribute to the city's legendary pubs, while Cheese Cherry Pineapple reimagines classic bar snacks.

Bar Spirit Forward, Bengaluru (No. 30)

Also representing Bengaluru is Bar Spirit Forward, which climbed seven places from No. 37 to No. 30 this year. The bar has built a reputation for combining advanced cocktail techniques with an energetic atmosphere, earning praise for drinks that balance creativity with precision.

Co-founded by Arijit Bose, the venue pairs refined interiors with a lively service style, while the kitchen draws inspiration from Japanese omakase dining. Standout cocktails include the Southern Star, a blend of tequila and fermented fruit. Earlier this year, the bar was also recognised as India's Best Bar at the 30 Best Bars India Awards.
