5 Spanish Web Series On Netflix That Deserve To Be On Your Watchlist

Are you a fan of Money Heist & Elite? Then check out these titles next

A wave of Spanish web series is redefining binge-watching beyond Money Heist and Elite. This guide spotlights five Netflix picks across genres: Death, Inc’s funeral-home workplace satire, tense mystery Snow Girl, masculinity-skewering comedy Alpha Males, generational clash in Old Dog, New Tricks, and hospital melodrama Breathless, all promising engaging, character-driven stories and multi-season arcs.

Five years ago, the world collectively binge-watched the end of a high-stakes heist and walked away singing Bella Ciao at the top of their lungs. Then came Elite, the Spanish original and its Indian adaptation. Suddenly, more Spanish shows were getting discovered than ever before. Lists, breakdowns, underrated gems, and the lot – all of it came, branding Spanish web series and movies as the next best thing for binge-watching.

But, as it happens with beauty contest winners every year, the winner gets replaced. The K-dramas happened, and everyone still cries when the word Tangerines comes up. Turkish soap operas made us turn a kinder eye towards Indian soaps. And of course, who can forget the AI-generated fruit and food dramas on IG (you know that I know that you know, you’ve seen it… and so have I).

Now, some of it may satisfy the cringe itch in your brain, but everyone feels the absence of a good drama, comedy, or thriller.

Spanish Web Series on Netflix

If you find yourself nodding yes to this, then read about five Spanish web series on Netflix that you won’t regret binge-watching.

Death, Inc

Imagine The Office, but in a funeral home. At times absurd, at times relatable, the only dark thing about this black comedy is the setting. After the owner of Terragossa, a funeral home, dies, the workers, including an ambitious manager, are stuck with a new boss (the widow) and a marketing manager whose silliness might just rival that of Michael Scott. Just goes to show, the nature of business can change, but finding your boss annoying? That’s universal! The show has three seasons, and the production for season 4 started in November 2025.

Snow Girl

Everyone knows the trick to a good mystery is pacing, and yet so many shows drop the ball here. But not Snow Girl. A gripping, well-paced thriller, it follows the story of a young journalist determined to help find a missing girl. Adapted from the Spanish novel La chica de nieve by author Javier Castillo, the story has its dated moments (the young intern-veteran colleague trope is anything but thrilling at this point), but the limited series keeps you hooked till the end. The audience is divided on some of the secrets revealed, but everyone agrees that it’s worth a watch!

Alpha Males

The men (especially on social media) will tell you the world is changing, and the social norms with it. The four leads of Alpha Males—middle-aged men navigating life and relationships—will show you, with situational comedy, silly mistakes, and surprising emotional moments, what that change looks like. It starts slightly predictable, with characters showing little growth. But stick with this light-hearted comedy for more than a single season, and you’ll not be disappointed. Against all odds, this does something few shows have managed – a balanced take on what masculinity means in the modern ages. The 5-season Spanish comedy has been adapted for 4 regions – Germany, France, the Netherlands, and Italy. This is what you play in the background when you want engaging, but not engrossing, and definitely not brain-rotting. The final season of the series is slated for a 2027 release.

Old Dog, New Tricks

The “freshest” show on the list, Old Dog, New Tricks, is yet another comedy about the workplace. But here, the focus is on the generation gap through the lens of animal care. The deadpan comedy-drama follows a gruff veterinarian forced to join an animal boutique managed by his niece. In a world obsessed with reinvention, this one quietly asks, can old-school experience survive modern work culture? The first season of the show is currently streaming, the second is in production, and the third has been greenlit. So if you like this one, there’s a lot more coming for sure.

Breathless

Whether you miss Grey’s Anatomy (presuming you managed to watch all the seasons to date), love the Pitt, or simply have a hankering for high-stakes drama, medical drama Respira ticks all the boxes. Here, hospital emergencies, personal drama, and sharp sociopolitical commentary take place simultaneously. While it leans towards melodrama now and then, the show is undeniably binge-worthy. This isn’t the kind of cinema that breaks the norm. It’s the kind that quietly takes a spot on your list of “guilty pressures”.
