One of the most watched OTT series Mirzapur starring Ali Fazal, Shweta Tripathi, Pankaj Tripathi and more has been a talking point for most of the year with much of the conversation centering on successful run of Mirzapur: The Movie and fan expectations from season 4 of the show that has remained pretty much under wraps.
However, in a recent conversation with a publication, Shweta Tripathi who plays Golu Gupta on the Amazon Prime Video show directed by Gurmmeet Singh shared some insights on when the show's latest season might drop on OTT, what the fans can expected from the script that's currently under development and what she might want to explore through her character on the show.

While Amazon Prime Video is yet to announce Mirzapur Season 4 release date, according to media reports, the production timeline is said to be finalised only by early 2027 which points to a late 2027 release date for the show or early 2028.
Previously, the actress had hinted at a possible release in July 2025. However, no official confirmation from the creators suggested the possibility of release then.
The viewers nevertheless can expect The story for Mirzapur Season 4 to pick up directly from the violent events of Season 3, with scripting officially underway under director Gurmmeet Singh.
The major plot points that could be explored in the new season include: Guddu Pandit's control of Mirzapur as he faces fresh challenges and new rivals trying to strip him of power. The power struggle is expected to expand with political players like JP Yadav, new syndicates, and lingering fan theories regarding unexpected returns or final showdowns between the Tripathis, Tyagis, and Pandits.
Not only that, Golu Gupta (Shweta Tripathi) will continue her blood-soaked transformation, with the narrative exploring new, darker sides of her character.
In the interview with Mid-Day, Tripathi said "her journey is special to me. Golu’s experiences have changed her. And she is still changing. But I think that’s what makes her human. I have grown as an actor while playing her too, so in many ways, we have grown together.”
Mirzapur Season 4 might also include plotlines connecting it to the Mirzapur movie, which released theatrically on September 4, 2026, and is reportedly set for its OTT premiere on Prime Video on October 30, 2026. Both Season 4 and the film were conceptualised together and pick up from where Season 3 ended.
