GTA 6 has made an entire generation wait after releasing GTA 5 way back in 2013. GTA 6 has has been living in leaks, rumours and fan theories ever since. However, now it is well on its way and the new GTA 6 trailer has revealed a lot more just after new leaks revealed another big part of it to the public. The new GTA 6 trailer has finally matched the hype created around the game over the years. GTA 6 trailer clocks in at a tight minute and a half and it focuses on Jason, Lucia, Vice City and more. The new GTA 6 launch trailer, which you can watch here, locks in a release date too. With just over a month left to the release date, this is the closest look yet at what Rockstar has been building the game toward. The new footage shown was captured on PS5. The trailer also posts a message, 'Plays best on PS5'.
The new GTA 6 trailer shows Jason and Lucia in the aftermath of a robbery gone wrong. The couple land hard in the darkest part of sunniest place in America. They get involved in a criminal conspiracy that has the entire state of Leonida in its net.
Oh yes, there is a new Jason and Lucia shower scene too. She says, "Are we gonna be okay?" Jason replies, "Just gotta get through it."
The trailer actually starts with Jason narrating how it all started. "I got into some trouble with the army," he said. Money trouble started after no one gave any "loans" to him to start afresh. Jason is shown working at Brian's marina when he gets a call from Lucia.
The new trailer is not showing the gameplay, it is focusing on being a cinematic trailer, just like trailer 1 and 2 had.
Beyond the glow of Vice City itself, the new GTA 6 trailer widens the lens to Leonida, the fictional state the city calls home, and populates it with exactly the kind of chaos fans signed up for.
Expect balaclava-clad gunmen, aerial stunts, and a cast of personalities that feel less like background noise and more like the main event.
Unlike the ’80s-soaked nostalgia of “Vice City,” this version plants itself firmly in the present, trading period kitsch for modern-day absurdity, with the technical polish to back it up.
The timing isn’t accidental. “GTA 6” has already pulled in hundreds of millions in preorder revenue since opening bookings on June 25, with the Ultimate Edition leading the charge, despite no physical release and a console-exclusive launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The game follows Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, a criminal couple whose rise through Vice City’s underworld forms the emotional and chaotic backbone of the story.
With this trailer landing just weeks before launch, Rockstar isn’t just building anticipation anymore; it’s cashing it in.
