GTA 6 has invaded most of the mindspace of men, but now it is entering areas where things have got a little tricky - for girlfriends and wives and they are taking action. Forget secret texts or late-night scrolling; the newest relationship red flag apparently comes with a PS5 controller attached. Women across the internet, half-jokingly, of course, are slapping a GTA 6 ban on their partners. The reason has a name: Lucia Caminos. One video showed a girlfriend interrogating her boyfriend mid-gameplay about dates, flowers, and virtual affection, before smashing his PS5 so he would do it all in real life instead. Another called it cheating outright.
Somewhere between the outrage and the eye-rolls, the internet decided this reported GTA 6 aspect deserved a proper debate. Are men really besotted by Lucia and are real men showering their affections on her - fictional character she may be?
The complaints all circle back to one point: attention. A viral post joked that men romancing a video game character officially makes them "cheaters," while promising to fight fire with fire by out-charming the console with real dates and real-life romance.
Another skit leaned into the bit entirely, a girlfriend watching her boyfriend buy Lucia flowers and get cosy with her in-game, only to snap back with the very fair question of when he last did either for her. The punchline wasn't even subtle: if a fictional woman is getting more romantic effort than the real one, someone's priorities need fixing.
A third post took a more sarcastic route, flipping the usual "you're just insecure" defence on its head by pointing out that finding virtual dating genuinely entertaining is, well, a little weird on its own.
Naturally, the replies split right down the middle. Some women said this finally explained their partner's excitement for the upcoming game, half-laughing, half-concerned.
Others went further, predicting GTA 6 might accidentally become a relationship filter, either teaching men a thing or two about romantic effort, or quietly ending situationships that were already on thin ice.
But the defence came in loud too, with plenty pointing out that dressing up a fictional character isn't infidelity; it's just... a video game, and if anything, tongue in cheek, watching the discourse unfold was making single life look pretty appealing. As long as the game was there.
Well, one thing is certain: Lucia has not even launched yet, GTA 6 release date is November 19, and she is already causing more drama than most some real exes.
