A Vodafone Egypt listing spotted by Facebook user Yousif Ayman showed the iPhone 18 Pro Max priced at EGP 105,000 ($1320), compared with EGP 94,400 for the 256GB iPhone 17 Pro Max, an increase of around 11 per cent. The same was highlighted first by the folks at GSM Arena. The iPhone 17 Pro Max launched at $1,200 for its base configuration. A 10 per cent increase on that would put the next Pro Max at roughly $1320. It's worth being clear that this is an estimate, not a confirmed price.
For buyers used to the Pro Max sitting at the top of Apple's regular iPhone range, even a modest hike would be worth noting. It also comes at a time when Apple is expected to make some of its biggest changes yet to the Pro lineup, alongside the debut of its first foldable iPhone. In the US, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, a number IDC also backs, expects Apple to cap the hike at around $100 (£100 in the UK), putting the 512GB iPhone 18 Pro Max between $1,299 and $1,499 in the US, and £1,299 to £1,499 in the UK. Jeff Pu of GF Securities has flip-flopped: an earlier note suggested prices jumping from $1,199 to $1,449–$1,499, while a more recent one hints prices could stay flat as Apple renegotiates memory deals. These remain separate, unconfirmed analyst predictions.
Separate leaks suggest the iPhone 18 Pro Max could bring a variable-aperture main camera, giving users more control over light and improving photography in different conditions.
It's also rumoured to feature a 6.9-inch display, up to 12GB of RAM and storage of up to 2TB. Apple may reduce the Dynamic Island by moving more Face ID components beneath the display.
A larger battery has also been rumoured, which would help support the phone's large screen and advanced camera system.
Taken together, these upgrades could help justify the possible price increase, although the estimated $1320 US figure remains unconfirmed.
