Aryan Khan On Creating An Eyewear Collection Imagined By His Father
As D'YAVOL X launches its first-ever luxury eyewear collection, Aryan Khan tells us why this is only the beginning for the brand
If eyes are the window to one’s soul, are sunglasses somehow closing that window? Maybe they’re like fancy curtains, drawn when needed and a visual delight otherwise. Or maybe I’m sacrificing basic sense at the altar of a good opening for this story and it’s not even happening!
Let’s get to the point, then. Sunglasses are perhaps the most potent of all accessories. A refuge on the days eyebags have run havoc and the night before is trying hard to veer into the morning after. That last minute finishing touch to a great look. Your shield against the sun’s rays and people’s gaze. A style expression, if you may. Whatever you want it to be. As long as they look good, and you look great wearing them.

Something about sunglasses has always suggested that they’re more than meets the eye. The beholder must know how to pull them off. The shape matters both of the frame and the one who’s wearing them. A fine balance that only few truly master. Not everyone’s Shah Rukh Khan, after all. The man who makes everything he wears look good.

Speaking of SRK and looking good, it's only fair that the brand he’s started with his son, Aryan Khan, along with Leti Blagoeva, and Bunty Singh, came up with a luxury eyewear collection, right? D’YAVOL X’s new drop is exactly that and it’s every bit as fabulous as one would’ve expected or wanted it to be. There are 5 styles and each frame has a story to tell and a statement for you to make. Priced between ₹28,000 and ₹41,000 and available exclusively on the brand’s website to shop, it's imagined by SRK and his long-standing passion for eyewear and handcrafted in Japan utilising pure titanium, select premium acetates, and ZEISS lenses engineered for optical clarity. He’s also fronting the campaign – but then who else would be the right fit!

When we asked Aryan about his brand entering the eyewear space, he was clear this was only the beginning. "We didn’t want sunglasses to be an afterthought. This had to feel like a category we could own long-term: something designed meticulously, engineered properly, and meant to be worn repeatedly without losing relevance."

Eyewear is as eyewear does & this new collection surely does everything right. When something comes with SRK’s stamp of approval, you can’t ever go wrong. Just don’t expect to look as good as him in the sunglasses – that’s a bar too high for you to reach!
