We’re Getting A Ted Lasso Season 4
Here's everything we know about the Emmy-winning comedy
So here we are, again!
Apple TV has finally made it official: Ted Lasso Season 4 is happening, premiering summer 2026, and Jason Sudeikis is back in the dugout. The show that many of us tearfully bid farewell to after Season 3's seemingly perfect ending is returning to the pitch. Production kicked off in Kansas City—Sudeikis' hometown—back in July before moving to London, where filming is currently underway. And honestly? We're not mad about it.

Where We Left Off
We all remember that gut-punch of a finale. Ted made the difficult choice to return home to Kansas, prioritizing his son Henry over coaching glory. AFC Richmond had just won the Premier League but Ted wasn't there to celebrate it. Instead, we got that bittersweet airport goodbye as Rebecca, Keeley, Roy, and the rest of the Richmond family stayed behind in England, each moving forward with their own next chapters. It felt final and complete.
But alas.
Ted's coming back to Richmond to take on his biggest challenge yet—coaching a second division women's football team. According to the official synopsis, Ted and his new squad will "leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would."

The first-look images Apple released give us some early clues about how this reunion happens. In one shot, Rebecca appears to be recruiting Ted back to England, meeting him at the Richmond jet. Naturally, Ted's handing her a box of those legendary homemade biscuits.
Who's Back
According to the official announcement, the core lineup is intact. Emmy winners Hannah Waddingham and Brett Goldstein are returning as Rebecca and Roy Kent, respectively. Juno Temple's back as Keeley, Brendan Hunt's reprising Coach Beard, and Jeremy Swift returns as the eternally earnest Leslie Higgins. Even Annette Badland's Mae Green is back behind the bar at The Crown & Anchor, which means the emotional center of the show remains firmly in place.

New Faces
Season 4 adds some fresh talent to the Richmond roster. Tanya Reynolds joins as a new assistant coach working alongside Ted and Beard. The first-look photos show her right in the thick of things, suggesting she'll be a significant presence this season. Other newcomers include Jude Mack, Faye Marsay (you'll recognize her from Andor), Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, and Abbie Hern—presumably players on the new women's team, though character details are still under wraps.

And here's the notable recast: Grant Feely is taking over the role of Henry Lasso. The first-look images show Ted and his son together at Mae's pub, which suggests Henry will be spending at least part of Season 4 in London with his dad. That's a significant shift from Season 3, when Ted's return to Kansas was specifically about being present for Henry back home.
Behind the Scenes
The creative brain trust has expanded for Season 4. Emmy winner Jack Burditt—the writer-producer behind Modern Family, 30 Rock, and more recently Nobody Wants This—joins as executive producer under a new overall deal with Apple TV.
Sudeikis remains at the helm as star and executive producer, joined by the core creative team: Brendan Hunt, Joe Kelly, Jane Becker, Jamie Lee, and Bill Wrubel. Brett Goldstein continues as both writer and executive producer alongside Leanne Bowen. Sarah Walker and Phoebe Walsh are back as writers and producers, with Sasha Garron co-producing. New to the writing staff: Julia Lindon as a writer and Dylan Marron as story editor.
Production's underway, summer 2026 is circled on the calendar, and Richmond's doors are officially open again. We’ll just have to wait and see if Ted can work the same magic with a women's team and live up to what came in the previous three seasons.
