South Indian OTT Releases This Week July 13-19, 2026

Pavithram Season 2 – JioHotstar (July 13)

Malayalam audiences have been waiting for this one. Pavithram started out as an Asianet television serial back in December 2024 and built up a loyal following before the makers decided to give it a digital-first second season, skipping television altogether this time and going straight to JioHotstar.

Season 2 picks up with Vedha and Vikram, played once again by Surabhi Santosh and Sreekanth Sasikumar, as their lives take a darker turn. The first few episodes deal with separation and sacrifice, and Vedha finds herself fighting to protect her child while trying to find her way back to Vikram. Director Sunil Kariattukara is sticking with the same slow-burn, emotionally grounded style that made the original run popular, so if you liked the first season for its restraint rather than melodrama, this should feel familiar. JioHotstar has already put up the first five episodes, so there's enough to sink into right away.

Second Love – JioHotstar (July 13)

Dating shows tend to lean on drama and manufactured conflict, but Second Love is going for something quieter. Actress Ramya Krishnan hosts this Tamil reality series alongside Shrutika Arjun, and the premise is simple: twelve singles, six men and six women in their 20s and 30s, all of whom have been through a breakup or divorce, move into a villa together to see if they're ready to try again.

Instead of leaning on twists and eliminations, the show spends its time on actual conversations, compatibility exercises and the kind of vulnerable, unpolished moments that usually get edited out of this genre. Whether it manages to stay away from the usual reality TV playbook once it's a few episodes in remains to be seen, but the setup is a refreshing change of pace.

Maa Inti Bangaaram – JioHotstar (July 17)

This is arguably the biggest release of the week. Maa Inti Bangaaram had a strong theatrical run after opening in Telugu cinemas on June 19, crossing the 100 crore mark at the worldwide box office and becoming one of the highest grossing female-led Telugu films to date. Directed by B. V. Nandini Reddy, it stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu as Swarna, a woman who was once a trained assassin and has spent years trying to bury that past after marrying into a respectable family.

Naturally, that past catches up with her. Old enemies resurface, and Swarna has to slip back into skills she hoped she'd never need again, all while keeping her double life hidden from the people she loves most. The film blends family comedy with genuine action, and Samantha also produced it alongside Raj Nidimoru and Himank Reddy Duvvuru. Gulshan Devaiah and Diganth Manchale round out the main cast. It'll stream in Telugu with a Tamil-dubbed version also available, so non-Telugu speakers aren't left out.

Transfer Trimurthulu – ZEE5 (July 17)

There's a genuine comeback story behind this one. Vadde Naveen, who was a familiar face in Telugu family dramas through the 1990s, stepped away from acting for roughly a decade before returning with Transfer Trimurthulu, a film he also produced under his own banner. He plays an honest police constable who decides to reopen a twenty-year-old assault case in Araku and ends up uncovering a political conspiracy that goes far higher up than he expected.

Director Kamal Teja Narla, making his feature debut here, has said he wanted the film to stay grounded rather than turn into a typical masala cop thriller, which is why there's less emphasis on big fight scenes and songs than you might expect from the genre. The film didn't do well in theatres after its June release, picking up mostly negative reviews, so this OTT run on ZEE5 is really its second chance to find an audience. Rashi Singh plays the female lead.

The Devil – ZEE5 (July 17)

Closing out the week is this Kannada action thriller starring Darshan Thoogudeepa in a dual role, playing both a mess owner living a fairly ordinary life and the estranged son of an imprisoned Chief Minister he's asked to impersonate. Once he agrees, he's pulled into a world of political scheming, betrayal and enemies he never signed up for.

The Devil had its theatrical release back in December 2025 and went on to earn around 43 crore at the box office, and it's arriving on ZEE5 roughly seven months later. Directed by Prakash Veer, the film also features Mahesh Manjrekar, Rachana Rai and Achyuth Kumar. It's worth noting that Darshan has been out on bail while facing trial in connection with the 2024 murder of a fan named Renukaswamy, a case that's been closely covered by the Kannada press, and this film marks one of his few screen appearances since. If you're after a high-energy political thriller to close out the week, this is the one to watch.

That's the full lineup for July 13 to 19, 2026 - Maa Inti Bangaaram, Transfer Trimurthulu, Pavithram Season 2, the Devil, and Second Love. Between a homegrown family saga, an unconventional dating show and two major theatrical films making their digital debut, there's enough variety here that you shouldn't have trouble finding something to match your mood this week.
