Irumudi, Netflix

Ravi Teja plays Trinadh, a protective father whose daughter goes missing, leaving behind an audio message that leads him towards a troubling truth involving her friends and other schoolgirls. Directed by Shiva Nirvana, Irumudi is Ravi Teja's 77th film and also stars Priya Bhavani Shankar, Sai Kumar, Baby Nakshathra, Ajay Ghosh and Swasika. The title refers to the sacred offering carried by Lord Ayyappa devotees, adding a spiritual layer to the father's journey. It streams on Netflix from September 18.

Idi Mazha Kaattu, Saina Play

Idi Mazha Kaattu follows four men whose lives intersect with Sougada, a migrant woman from West Bengal searching for belongings stolen after she arrives in Kerala. Chemban Vinod, Sreenath Bhasi, Senthil Krishna, Sudhi Koppa and Azeez Nedumangad lead the cast in this Malayalam comedy thriller directed by Ambili S. Rengan. The film mixes humour with migration, loneliness and an unlikely friendship, and starts streaming on Saina Play on September 18.

Thudakkam, JioHotstar

Vismaya Mohanlal makes her acting debut in Thudakkam, playing Meenu, a young martial arts practitioner who gets caught in danger after helping two schoolgirls. A mysterious stranger begins following her, turning a simple act of kindness into a tense thriller. Jude Anthany Joseph directs the Malayalam film, which also stars Ashish Joe Antony, Sai Kumar and Manoj K. Jayan, with Mohanlal appearing in a cameo. It arrives on JioHotstar on September 18.

Modha Rathri, Netflix

Modha Rathri centres on Maruthu and Muthuselvi, played by Rishikanth and Anishma Anilkumar, who are pushed into an arranged marriage despite their different expectations and personal baggage. Their uneasy new life becomes the source of the Tamil comedy drama's family tensions and humour. Directed by Raja Karuppasamy, the film also features Shelly Kishore, Chetan and Bagavathi Perumal, and premieres on Netflix on September 18.

Angikaaram, SunNXT

Angikaaram follows Aathiran Banumathi, a talented 200-metre runner from a Chennai slum determined to reach the Commonwealth Games. When his place is taken away, his sporting dream becomes a larger fight against poverty, discrimination and institutional bias. Directed by Thenpathiyan, the Tamil sports action drama stars Kotapadi J Rajesh, Sindhoori Vishwanath and Rangaraj Pandey. It streams on SunNXT from September 18.

Ram And Leela, Prime Video

Rio Raj stars as Ram, a 30-year-old facing repeated marriage rejections before meeting Leela, played by Varthika. Their romance takes an unusual turn when she tells him he must never see her after 6 pm, setting up a mystery with a sci-fi twist. Directed by Ramachandrran Kannan, the Tamil romantic comedy also marks Varthika's film debut and features a soundtrack by Ankit Menon. It streams on Prime Video from September 18.
