Would you trade your life for a wish to come true? A little Doctor Faustus like deal, right? Well that chilling question lies at the heart of the new Korean series If Wishes Could Kill, Netflix's first Korean YA horror series.

Set for a premier globally this April, If Wishes Could Kill blends supernatural terror with high school drama. The series introduces a deadly twist on wish fulfillment through a mysterious app called Girigo.

Said to be one of the most anticipated K-series release of 2026, If Wishes Could Kill is about to send chills down the spine with its engagement with psychological horror, occult elements, brilliant rising young star cast and an intense storyline. So, as you go sprinkle some salt outside your house to protect you from evil spirits, here's everything you should know about the horror that is waiting to turn into your worst nightmare.

Why You Should Watch If Wishes Could Kill?

Set in Seorin High School, the story follows five students whose ordinary lives spiral into chaos when their wishes begin to come true and at a terrifying cost. As seen in the trailer, the deceptively light tone of the classroom quickly darkens as one student introduces Girigo to his friends after unexpectedly acing an exam, presenting it as an app that grants wishes.

The lives of those five students changes when they realise that the app that's mysteriously granting their wishes is also triggering a deadly 24-hours countdown as each wish desired is met, further pulling them into a chain of increasingly horrifying incidences. As fear grips in, and naturally it should, they are left with the choice. They must either uncover the truth behind the app or pay the ultimate price for wishful thinking.
