Bobby Deol and Anurag Kashyap’s Bandar is set to make its digital debut, giving viewers another opportunity to watch the crime drama after its theatrical release.
Bandar will be available to stream in Hindi on ZEE5 from August 28. The OTT premiere follows the film’s theatrical release on June 5, 2026. The movie was initially scheduled to arrive in cinemas on May 22 but was later moved to June 5. Directed by Anurag Kashyap, the film features Bobby Deol in the lead, with Sanya Malhotra, Sapna Pabbi, Saba Azad, Raj B. Shetty, Indrajith Sukumaran and Jitendra Joshi among the supporting cast. Sudip Sharma and Abhishek Banerjee have written the film, while Nikhil Dwivedi produced it under Saffron Magicworks, with Zee Studios backing the project. Rooted in the #MeTooForMen discourse, its story follows a man whose life unravels after a woman's accusation, with public opinion and media scrutiny taking hold before the truth can emerge.
Follows Samar Mehra, a middle-aged television actor whose life takes a disturbing turn after his former partner accuses him of rape. Samar denies the allegation, but he is arrested and forced to face the consequences of the case. His time in prison exposes him to fear, humiliation, and harsh conditions, while his personal relationships and public image begin to fall apart. As Samar struggles to prove his innocence, the film explores themes of justice, guilt, reputation, and the lasting impact of accusations. The story presents a tense and emotionally challenging look at a man fighting for his freedom.
For Bobby Deol, Bandar represents another departure from the larger-than-life image associated with some of his recent roles. The actor has described the project as one that pushed him outside his comfort zone and required him to surrender to Kashyap’s filmmaking approach.
Before its Indian theatrical release, Bandar premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2025, where it was presented in the Special Presentations section.
