On the 19th release anniversary of Awarapan, a new teaser has signalled that a follow-up is on the way. The Awarapan 2 teaser has revealed that Emraan Hashmi has returned as Shivam Pandit. Awarapan 2 release date too has been revealed. Awarapan 2 is directed by Nitin Kakkar and stars, apart from Emraan Hashmi, Disha Patani, and Shabana Azmi in lead roles. The film is set for an August, 2026 release.
Awarapan 2 release date has been revealed as being August 14, 2026. However, unfortunately for Emraan, it will be clashing wuth Sunny Deol's Batwara 1947.
The teaser boasts deep emotional depth and very high production value, even as the iconic "Toh Phir Aao" from the original film playing in the background. It reminded fans of the film that released in 2007.
While the 2007 release was a box office disappointment upon its release, the film, directed by Mohit Suri, gained a strong cult following thanks to its story, performances, and music. So, this makes Awarapan 2 one of those rare films that is a sequel to a box office flop.
