The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday revealed the schedule for the Men’s Cricket World Cup to be held in South Africa, Namibia and Zimbabwe from October 2. After losing to Australia in the 2023 World Cup final in Ahmedabad, the Men in Blue are back on the road to cricket's biggest 50-over prize.
The ODI World Cup 2027 schedule has India opening its campaign against defending champions Australia in Cape Town on October 7, followed by the much-awaited India vs Pakistan clash in Johannesburg on October 10.
The upcoming edition will consist of 14 teams, 57 matches and a new Super Series and Super 7 format. Here are the ICC ODI World Cup 2027 Schedule details, including India's fixtures, dates, venues, format and where to watch in India.
The Super Series begins on October 2, the Group Stage runs from October 7 to October 24, and the Super 7 takes place from October 25 to November 14. The semi-finals are scheduled for November 17 and 18, while the final will be played on November 21 in Johannesburg, with November 22 as the reserve day.
Group A features India, Australia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and Qualifier A.
Group B comprises New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, England, Bangladesh and Qualifier B.
The remaining qualification places will be determined through the Cricket World Cup Qualifier and the Super Series.
The tournament will travel across 12 venues in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. South Africa will host matches in Cape Town, Paarl, Johannesburg, Tshwane, Bloemfontein, Durban, KuGompo City and Gqeberha. Zimbabwe's venues are Harare, Bulawayo and Victoria Falls, while Windhoek's Namibia Cricket Ground hosts the Super Series and three Group Stage matches.
Indian viewers can watch the ICC ODI World Cup 2027 live on Star Sports on television, while JioHotstar will provide live streaming of the matches in India.
India are in Group A alongside Australia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and Qualifier A. Their Group Stage campaign begins with a repeat of the 2023 final against Australia in Cape Town. The India-Pakistan fixture follows three days later in Johannesburg.
According to Star Sports, all the India matches will begin at 1:30 p.m. IST.
