Every new iPhone launch brings the same question from gamers. What are the frames per second for their favourite game? Well, iPhone 18 Pro launched in September and Garena Free Fire India has launched in October 2026. Now, gamers want to know if iPhone 18 Pro-Free Fire India gaming session will hit the 120 FPS mark? YouTuber Gaming World decided to find out, putting the iPhone 18 Pro Max through hours of Free Fire India gameplay, indoors and outdoors, to check frame rates, heating, brightness, and battery life. Many would wish it could play at 144 FPS as the experience is awesome at that rate, but that is not happening.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max manages to reach the 120 FPS rate while playing Garena Free Fire and that is courtesy its 120Hz display. That said, the Free Fire India gameplay reportedly feels noticeably smoother than on the iPhone 17 Pro Max, even at the same frame rate.
Across 2-3 hours of continuous gaming, no heating issues showed up, aided by a cooling chamber similar to last year’s model, and performance stayed stable even while charging.
Display sharpness and outdoor brightness also held up well under full-brightness gameplay.
However, do know that even if you have a low-price bracket phone, it will still work fast as Garena has optimised Free Fire India fully for the same.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max touts its gaming prowess. It is powered by the A20 Pro chip that has 7-core GPU, hardware-accelerated ray tracing and a new vapor chamber cooling system that has 3x the surface area of iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Battery life gets a genuine upgrade this round, with a larger cell managing 7-8 hours of steady gaming and roughly 60-80% charge in just half an hour.
The catch is pricing: the 512GB variant reportedly starts around Rs 1,80,000, climbing to Rs 2.29 lakh for higher storage.
With the iPhone 17 Pro Max now discontinued, the channel suggests picking one up at a discount could make more sense than paying the premium for a phone that, gaming-wise, isn’t drastically different.
