GTA 6 Pre-Orders See A 436% Rise As Fans Rush To Buy After Netflix Reveal; PlayStation Hogs 3.51 Mn Copies

GTA 6 pre-orders have spiked by a massive 436% after the Extended Look reveal on Netflix. PlayStation continues to dominate the GTA 6 pre-order split, with fans putting nearly 77% of total spending behind Sony's platform alone. Fans have got a close look at Jason and Lucia and decided they quite like it.

GTA 6 did not need a trailer to sell copies, it just needed 26 minutes and the Netflix stage to send the internet into a full-blown spending spree. Rockstar barely said a word beyond 'here's Vice City', and wallets across the globe opened as if by a miracle. GTA 6 pre-orders were already healthy since June 2026, but nobody saw a 436% jump coming over one single weekend, Sensor Tower data shows. The Sony PlayStation has emerged the big winner over Xbox, dominating the copies sold. Turns out the GTA 6 Extended Look, with a much closer look at the lead protagonists Jason and Lucia, generated more hype than any countdown clock ever could.

GTA 6 Pre-Orders See A 436% Rise

Sensor Tower estimates that GTA 6 pre-orders spiked by 436% right after the Extended Look aired on Netflix on August 27, and the numbers kept climbing for two more days after that, because apparently once was not enough - with GTA 6, it seems, it never is.

Cumulative GTA 6 pre-orders now sit at roughly 4.55 million copies, translating to about $446 million in revenue, a genuinely wild number for a game that is still months away from release.

PlayStation is doing most of the heavy lifting here and not Xbox, accounting for nearly 77% of total spending on GTA 6, which works out to close to 3.51 million PlayStation copies alone.

About The GTA 6 Extended Look

The 26-minute GTA 6 preview opens with Jason and Lucia running a job for a contact that, predictably, goes sideways, because peace and quiet was never really on the GTA menu. What sets this clip apart is that Rockstar finally lets its two protagonists share the screen properly, working missions together instead of existing in separate lanes.

There is a domestic side to the GTA 6 Extended Look too - in one scene, Lucia asks Jason what she should wear. He picks a dress, she wears something else entirely, proof relationships translate perfectly even in Vice City. Beyond that, the footage wanders through open-world chaos, random NPCs, side activities, and reflections detailed enough to make puddles look like a genuine plot point.

With GTA 6 launch set for November 19 2026, this Extended Look on Netflix did exactly what it needed to: turned patience into GTA 6 pre-orders. However, over and above that, these GTA 6 pre-orders have created a problem that Rockstar has to actually deliver on.
